The 8x10' sizing is a bit over-stated as a queen-sized mattress positioned to one side essentially runs the entire length of 8' side of the tent. The construction of the tent without the rain fly is less than bomb proof but when not in a storm, I am sure it will work fine (rain fly would add to the over-all stability). Zippers are decent. Mesh is TINY and prevents any bug from getting through.

Easy to put on and take off. The fit is really snug and kept the rain out. Living in Seattle this was a must purchage in addition to the tent.

I chose this tent over others because of some of the features, especially the hinged door. Having not camped in a tent for many years and getting a little older, I look for features that make life a little easier. We camped 4 days recently and found it to hold up well to strong wind and rain. We did add water proofing at the seams but I don't think that would have been necessary as the rain fly keeps the rain away very well. It is roomy and tall. I liked being able to stand up completely in all areas. The awning from the rain fly makes a great shaded entrance. . It took us a bit to set up as one of the poles was called black on the instructions and it was really gray. Next time will be easier. We had plenty of room for our queen size air bed, a table and two chairs. It would be a little tight for 8 I think but I like a lot of room to move around during the day. Being able to bring our electric into the tent through a zippered opening was a real plus so that we could keep our phones charged and air bed fully inflated without having to go outside the tent. I absolutely love the hinged door, it makes the tent feel more like a camper and I'm looking forward to taking my grandkids camping in it because of the ease of going in and out. I would strongly recommend this tent to anyone looking for quality and convenience. Can't wait to use it again!

If you are on a tight budget, this will give you time to save for a replacement.

the tent it self is great. the instructions not so good. but once you get it started two people can figure it out. the room divider is not what i expected so i did not use it. we had a bad storm (took it camping in the mountains) the the tent was great, no leaks and we had not seam sealed it yet, rain fly fit perfect and did its job. we used a queen size mattress and had room to move.

I purchased this tent for my son's 9th birthday after reading reviews on several tents and knowing my price limit. Overall it was easy to put up, especially since I have never put up a tent before. The tent was roomy enough for my son and his 8 friends to play in on & off all evening. It appeared to be roomy enough for 3 people, 3 sleeping bags, and 3 luggage bags if using overnight which we did not. My major complaint is that the zipper for the door was extremely difficult to zip and unzip. It required 2 hands to do, one holding the zipper and the other pinching the tent. After several zips/unzips by the kids the stitches at the top of the door pulled a bit. My minor complaints are that it leaked water during a hard rain storm and it was difficult to fit back into its storage bag. Overall, this tent served its purpose: the kids had a great time with it. I would recommend to anyone who is a "casual" camper.
