Camping & Hiking

Camping and hiking are some of the best ways to spend time outdoors. Camping out, hiking and toasting marshmallows by a campfire can clear your mind and body of the stresses associated with the urban world. Camping and hiking are also great activities for families; they give you time with your loved ones and let you enjoy each others' company uninterrupted by the tasks and chores you normally have in your life. carries all the camping and hiking gear you need for a great trip at prices that make it practical for the whole family.
Camping and hiking can be very affordable hobbies. At bare minimum, camping requires a tent and sleeping bag, although other camping equipment, like camp chairs, air beds, coolers and outdoor cooking equipment, can improve the experience. If you have hesitant campers in the family, check out's collection of camp showers and other accessories; now it's just like home. Day hikes require even less than overnight camping trips: All you need is a good pair of hiking boots or shoes, some comfortable clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, water and a hat. Advanced hikers know how to layer for maximum comfort and often carry a daypack full of snacks and water to make the journey fun for everyone. Considering the price of going to the movies or out to a nice dinner, you could argue that buying camping and hiking gear is an investment in family entertainment.
Tents come in two main styles: tents for backpacking and tents for campground camping or car camping. Backpacking tents are designed to fit in a backpack and be carried to a backcountry location, so they are small (when set up as well as when packed) and lightweight. Tents for car camping tend to be spacious and weigh more than backpacking tents. This extra space provides you with a more comfortable camping experience, and the added weight isn't an issue if you don't have to carry your tent on your back.
Once you have your campground selected and your tent erected, it's time to set up your sleeping arrangements. Sleeping bags are constructed for different temperature ranges. It's best to find a sleeping bag that is rated for colder temperatures than you anticipate, as it's easier to cool off than warm up. Pair your sleeping bag with a foam pad or air mattress and you'll hardly notice the rocks and twigs you're sleeping on top of. Check out the low prices and excellent selection of camping and hiking equipment at and make your camping trip more fun.
