Solid construction, and easy to use. The On Off switch is the weak point of the product.
This gizmo put me on the paper at 75 yards right out of the gate, I've only used it for my new 30-06, but would venture to guess that it wouldn't matter what bore it was used on as one could expect similar results. The 2 out of 5 stars reflects the actual switch used to turn it on, poor design process or pooe craftsmanship, take your pick.
Nothing like going to the open range or indoor range BUT... This is the way to go if you cannot get to the range right away. Be methodical and take it slow setting it up. Also get a laser[or IR] target and battery powered ammo , if these are still around.]Between the two my accuracy stays pretty darn good! Both worth the monet.

JUNK, At a distance of 25yds the dot was huge & blurry. So I changed batteries , no good .Out to a range of 100 yds. Yeah good luck . It's junk Save your money , buy a Leupold.

- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Don't know
This is an good boresighter in my opinion. The end fittings that allow it to fit tight work in the surplus rifles I have. 7.62mm works. As you screw in the holder screw for each plastic fitting, it spreads the fitting allowing a tighter fit in the bore. I think the laser comes pretty straight out of the unit. I did not see a lot of change as I rotated it in the barrel. I bet there are more high end models, but this one works for me. I use it at dusk or in the evening if there is enough light on the items so you can see the item you are trying to point the laser dot at.
i bought a scope a while back and ive prolly shot 100 or so rounds trying to get it to line up, and then in about 15 mins i had it lined up with the bore sight, highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!
THIS IS A MUST FOR ANY SHOOTER THAT DEALS WITH SCOPES , OR WITH IRON SIGHTS AND SCOPE COMBO SHOOTING, I HAD BOUGHT AN AR-15 AND BUILT UP FROM THERE I WAS LOOKING AT THE IRON SIGHT AND IT DIDN'T LOOK CENTERED SO I HAD MADE AN ADJUSTMENT. I THEN PUT A SCOPE ON THE WEAPON WHILE SIGHTING IN THE SCOPE ON A TREE ( WITH OUT FIRING A SHOT} I STILL HAD MY DOUBTS AS TO THE ALIGNMENT COMPARED TO THE IRON SIGHT WITH THE SCOPE. SO I PURCHASED THE LASER BORE SIGHTER TO PROVE OUT THE SETTINGS. AND TO MY SURPRISE WHEN I MOUNTED THE BORE SIGHTER AND SIGHTED IN BOTH ARE RIGHT THERE. RIGHT WHERE I HAD HOPED VERY HAPPY WITH THE DECISSION TO BUY ONE OF THESE. NOW I STILL HAVE TO GET TO THE RANGE AND FINE TUNE IT
This boresighter does the job it was designed to do. Easy to set up, easy to use. My only issue is it seems that it would be easy to strip the threads of the stem if a user was not careful with screwing in the adapters. If you are careful you should have no issues. Just don't overdo it. Overall I give this item 4 stars for price, function and ease of use.
works great!!!great price too.very easy to use.checked all my guns with it.i would advise anyone wishing to sight in a gun with the fewest rounds possible to get one.
The easiest to use boresighter that I've owned, easy to setup and align, worked right out of the box
Haven't used the laser bore sighter on a firearm yet, but it appears to have everything needed. The switch seems to be a little tricky but replacing the batteries seems easy.
I've purchased several Bushnell products in the past and have generally been satisfied with their cost-to-quality margin. This product was the exception. The first thing that caught my eye was how off center the laser had been installed. With the rifle secured in a rest, I placed the boresighter in the barrel - which was pointed at a wall 25 feet away. When I rotated the boresighter 360 degrees, the laser 'drew' an approximate 5-6 inch diameter circle on the wall. Keep in mind that this was at 25 feet!!! Doing some quick math, if you were attempting to zero your sight on a target placed at 100 feet, this boresighter could only get you somewhere within 2 feet of the target!!! A quality product this is not. I would highly recommend spending a bit more for a product that could actually get you on paper with the first shot.
This product took a little to get going. When I found the batteries were half charged and replaced them and worked great. Thanks
Great product! I am happy with this purchase and will recomend everyone to buy this item.
I had recently purchased a .22 varmit rifle with a hi-power scope. It was extremely easy to do the initial sight in with this device. Simply selecting the proper size adapter to screw on the end of the tool from the several provided got the process in motion. Once inserted into the bore, the laser was rock steady and provided the red dot at 20 yards with no problem. It works best indoors or outside on an overcast or early AM/PM day so that sunlight does not drown out the laser dot. A few clicks for windage and elevation then the red dot was in the cross hairs. Only very minor adjustment was needed for live fire zeroing in. I found this to be a real time saver. It provides you with a process that is both easy and viewable to get the task accomplished with a minimum of work as well as saving ammo and time.
Much cheaper than firing out a box of rounds to zero in your rifle.
Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. I think it's a good product for the price. It's probably not as well made and durable as more expensive models, but this is truly a universal boresighting device covering .22 cal. - 12 ga.This sight-in tool is placed into the end of the bore. Due to the long shaft it may not work with some short barreled pistols. It seems accurate enough for a rough site-in. A few rounds at the firing range will allow for fine tuning. The borsight also comes with a nylon case. It has a pocket for the adapters to keep everything together, so there are no loose parts to store. The weaknesses of this device are: - the on/off switch is very simple and seems to be the least durable part (take care with it) / - the bore adapters are attached with small machine screws; the small parts could easily be lost / - the shaft is plastic; care should be taken with the screw-in adapters so as not to overtighten and strip the threads in the end of the shaft.
This item is great and worth the price considering the shortage and price of ammo.
I ordered this as a father's day gift. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. The recepient was really happy with it. It took awhile to figure out the on & off switch,( and it's sort of delicate) but once he did it was fine. He used it a couple of times and says it is easy to use and accurate.
I purchased this item because the reviews said it was fairly good. After receiving this product, I agree with the previous reviewers. It is a good product, but the on off switch is mickey mouse.
