  • Defender USA 6-ounce Boxing Gloves

    May 6, 2014

The gloves were great but did not fit our students (ages 7-8). We had to return them and purchase the 12 ounce size. Those worked great!

They got worn very quickly although not used very much. The quality of the leather was poor. The stitching was very poorly done. Very disappointed.

I bought this for my 9 year old Grandson for exercise. I also bought the Extreme boxing bean bag for him to use with the gloves & head gear. I haven't received the bag yet but the head gear & gloves feel like real leather and have the weight also. not some flimsey vinyle set which is what I thought it would be. He should have this set for quite some time. There are two so it will be good he and friends can have fun & be safe. It's unique too! I highly recommend this product.

For the price......... this is an exceptional bag. The first thing you should ask yourself is how you are going to fill your bag. I went with patches of old clothes and fabric for mine. I went to my local sewing shop and got FREE :o scrap fabric. I reccomend doing this because you will quickly grow tired of cutting up clothes and rags, and you need A LOT. My friend helped me pack it and it took us about 1 or 2 hours. I also put sand into large ziplock bags, reinforcing them with duct tape, and centered them in the middle of the fabric. This adds weight and stiffness to your bag (be carefull to avoid letting the sand bags touch the sides of the bag because they are extremely hard). The bag appears to be sewn together very well and with care should last a long time. Also we named the bag Steven, it seemed to suit him. I saw the gloves as a freebie, not expecting much from them, they were actually very good as well, just a bit stiff.

  • Good starting training set.

We bought this for our daughter for coordination/conditioning. The pole may slide a bit, but my husband fixed that by using the good old duct tape. Filled the base with playground sand, so it's very sturdy when she hits it. She loves it & we're happy too. Thanks always Overstock.
