Opinion...
 Nov 26, 2007

I have had these for about a month now so I hope my limited experiences with this product helps you out on your decision to buy. I wore them to work when I first got them and they seemed to work fine. I didn't really notice the weight being there like I do with ankle weights. Although I did have to laugh at myself when I forgot that I was wearing them and went running up the stairs, discovered that my legs were heavier than normal, and tripped up the stairs. Embarrassing... Anyway, I am at work for 9 hours and I have a 5 minute commute. When I took them off after work, I scratched my legs where they had been for about 20 minutes. They fit so snugly that they left impressions on my skin so that when I took them off, my skin was crazy itchy. I didn't buy a size that was too small because i have to use the Velcro straps to keep them in place. I don't think I could manage to keep them on my legs for any more than 12 hours. I'd scratch my legs to the bone! I decided to try wearing them on one of my runs. Ran 3 miles with them on and it was a pretty tough workout. They staid in place and didn't seem to bounce around very bad. I'll probably end up just wearing them to workout in or for hikes. I gave it a 4 for value because you could use these weights in conjunction with ankle weights and because you can wear these "in secret". (I dread they day I get "busted" wearing them though.) I gave it a 4 in appearance because it looks like some kind of futuristic armor and for it being all black. I haven't used them long enough to truly test durability so I gave it a 4 because, just guessing, I think they'll last for at least 4 years with average use. I gave it a 5 in workmanship because they fit my leg really well and i like how the weight was dispersed.

Tone up while out on the town
 from Chicago,  Oct 7, 2008

These are comfortable, they don't tax the knees or hips like ankle weights and you can wear them under your clothes. Every little bit helps and it feels good knowing you're doing something good for yourself during the day.

Leg Weights
from Buffalo, NY,  Feb 14, 2008

I really like these while excercising or even wearing while doing housework makes a difference. I bought exact size to fit and based on other reviews, I am glad I did..I wouldn't want them to slip down..Can't wait to start using them for evening walks! The exact size is EXACT...no room to spare...but I figured as I trim down, they will fit for a long time.......

GREAT FOR CARDIO AND CORE TRAINING
from CLEARWATER FLORIDA,  Dec 11, 2007

I am a personal trainer and personally use this product in my Treadmill and Core Training. I occasionally wear them at work for I seem to burn more calories during the day, I wear a calorie counter on days with and with and without the Body Togs. I chuckled on the comment made by the one customer who said they don't look good at work....If he was wearing pants , no one can see them:) I also train my clients them and they all responded well to the comfort and have no issues wearing them during the day for a few hours. BOTTOM LINE...I LIKE THEM!

Great Product
 from Florida,  Sep 19, 2007

Im 23 yo and I try to work out all the time. I love to run, play volleyball and remain active. Sometimes it can be hard when I work full time and always out and about. With BodyTogs I was able to wear them under my clothing while at work. They are great, I even wear them when I run and do core training. You can defintely feel the difference while working out with them virses not wearing them.

awesome
from Albany, CA,  Mar 12, 2011

I am very happy with my Body Togs! They are definitely very wearable, not clunky or uncomfortable like regular ankle weights. They're discreet enough to wear under most pants (even jeans!) and stay on well even while running long distances. I agree with another reviewer that noticed that they run larger than they claim. I measured my calf at 14.5 inches, but I am definitely glad that I heeded reviews and purchased the medium instead of the large, as the medium seems just the right size, if not tending on the large side. The only thing I would want to change with these is the adjustability of the weights.

Very comfortable!
from Washington DC,  May 12, 2010

These weights are in the form of 1 inch square weights sewn into spandex. The weights rest on the inside and outside of the calf. They are very comfortable - I just wish one could tighten the ankle size a bit more than what is currently allowed.

Waiting to See
from Ravenswood, WV,  Jan 9, 2010

Thus far I like the Body Togs. I wear them at home, exercising, and at work. They stay on your legs and are comfortable. Once I got used to them, I could not tell they were on my legs. They will not stay in place if you wear them over top of panty hose. I just got them for Christmas and I have worn them just about everyday. I am still waiting to see if they will make a difference in helping me to loose weight and tone my thighs. Also, I wanted more time to pass to determine durability. Thus, I did not give five stars.

Very pleased
from Baldwinsville, NY,  Sep 30, 2008

These leg sleeves are VERY well made, and very comfortable. I have even lent them to a co-worker to try under her khakis. I am still wearing capris to work, so haven't had much opportunity to wear them, except for on a walk with my husband. I look forward to getting more "mileage" out of my everyday activities by using them once the weather gets colder. Though they feel heavy enough when you pick them up, they are almost not heavy enough when wearing them! I wish they came in a10# version too, as I do have a somewhat muscular build, and am wondering if 5# is enough of a challenge for me. But. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in getting a little more benefit from daily walking, etc.

fun and novel gift
from Los Angeles,  Dec 31, 2007

I gave this as a xmas gift to a relative looking for ways to get heathier and I think it was totally great. I got a size large for a tall woman and it fit well. Although it stated it would also work on the arms, I don't see how since it was leg size and not arm size. It seems to be made of thin, heavy, small square weights and it was fun to pass around the group, with everyone awing at the ingenious idea. I got a set for myself and looking forward to wearing it under my business slacks to work. Thanks overstock for another great deal!

WalkWalkWalk
 from California,  Dec 27, 2007

The sleeves are wonderful. They are not too heavy (but heavy enough) and are inconspicuous under most pants (no skinny jeans, ladies!). You rarely notice that they are on your legs. You have to pull the strap super tight so that the sleeves do not slide down. HINT: If you measure your calf and are on the border between say a medium and large - order the smaller size for sure. They are pricey so it's too bad that you spend all that money on them, lose inches or weight in your legs, then half to buy a smaller size leg sleeve. But, they are well made and can always be gifted to a friend.

they fit like a glove..slip on like spandex stockings. I find these fairly comfortable considering that they are 4-5 extra pounds you have to walk around with.

would buy again
from San Francisco, CA,  Dec 12, 2007

I used to wear neoprene ankle weights during the day but they slid around and chafed my ankles. I like the idea of a low weight / high rep work out all day so I got these. They are fairly light so I hardly feel them and they lie flat enough that they don't show under my pant legs. My one complaint would be that I was on the border between a size small and medium so I played it safe and got the medium. They are a bit big so sometimes they slide down a bit. I also think the price is a little high when compared to other weights but they are the only ones I've found that are slim enough to wear all day so I would still recommend them.

yes and it's easy
from Centrail Tx,  Apr 19, 2008

nice for the small room and it works you out - even the 16-year-old teenage boy found it a work out for his fencing training. Adjustable for beginners - I would make the read out a little more obvious...but it works my legs and that's what I need. *****

Sounds good but........
from Boston, Mass,  Dec 4, 2007

I was very interested in the "concept" of this item.... I was dissappointed when I put them on....I thought I'd give them the old college try.....but, after an hour I couldn't take it any longer. I felt that I was walking like I had a few too many martini's....NOT a good look for the office. They didn't however show under my suit pants which was a bonus although everyone at the office knew by minute 15 that I had them on I was so bothered by them. I'll go back to wearing my old ankle weights when I go power walking .... Good thought....good try.....but, no "cigar"
