My daughter just turned 3 so she is still learning how to use the camera. The button to snap the picture is in the front of camera, so she will end up taking a picture of herself b/c she'll turn it around to snap the shot. After about two weeks she has learned how to turn it on and take a picture...she loves it! She got this camera as a gift from her new baby sister, and she uses it mainly to take pictures of the baby...and bugs. Definitly a wonderful gift.
I can't believe I found this camera at a fraction of the price! My daughter has been wanting her own camera for a while and she absolutely takes this camera whereever she goes! I love that the handles are made for tiny hands like hers and if its drops on the floor, the handles cushion the fall instead of immediately breaking the lens. She loves that she gets to be like the "grown ups!"
This is a great little camera for a toddler. There is no flash, but I prefer that because otherwise our son would be constantly blinding us with it. The picture quality is fine for a preschool toy. My son loves it!
The digital screen on the back of the camera is way to small to enjoy. Also the button's don't have marks that make sens for a kid. ie the delete button has other functions as well.
I looked for a digital camera for my 4 and 8 year old nephews. The options are totally baby-like (this included but not as much so as the FP wihch is much more expensive anyway) or Barbie . There isn't an in between for the 6-9 year old crowd. The older boy could handle more, but the cameras pleased them and have resulted in hours of fun. The video option has no sound but they are ok with that. I shopped extensively and feel I did as well as I could.
We were bummed to find out that it doesn't have a flash.
Major battery eater! Blurry pictures every time. The kids had a hard time figuring out what mode it was in. Wasted my money.
- How accurate was the sizing? good
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Blurry pictures.
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Not sure....pictures sure didn't come out good.
The only problem is the screen is too small for my 4 year old to see very well. It also really needs a flash on it. MOst of the pictures are dark. I child spends most of their time indoors, and consequently their pictures can be expected to be taken indoors as well.
This is a good, basic and durable camera for my six year old daughter. She has been taking pictures and video since she got it on Christmas day. We've also put her pictures on the computer. It has definitely been a hit with her.
It is easy to use once it is charged. My granddaughter loves seeing the play backs after she shoots a picture.
Like another reviewer, I cannot get the PC camera function to open on my computer. It is durable but there are too many negatives. The screen is so small, no flash (big one), no sound on the videos. Also, I can't upload the pictures to shutterfly to share them with people. My daughter is always pushing the power button twice to turn on which puts the camera in video mode. This camera is only good for little ones to pretend to take pictures. If your child is interested in the pictures they are taking I'd recommend a different kids camera. Kinda a disappointment.
I am not yet sure what my true review will be of this camera as I am unable to download the pictures to my computer. The screen is very small and I was dissapointed at the clarity of the pictures on the screen. As others have said, it is difficult to see what you are taking a picture of. My 2 1/2 year old son likes to carry the camera around but it will take some time for him to figure out how to take pictures. The best thing about this camera is its durability.I am considering taking the camera back, especially if I am unable to figure out how to download the pictures. I have read the directions and downloaded the disc that was included and no success. Does anyone have the solution? Thanks
This is a very durable camera, but the screen is so small you can't tell what you are seeing, no flash and no sound with the video. Also, when I downloaded the pictures on my computer, I keep getting an error message saying something about Windows Explorer needs to close. But the durability is great.
Wow what a great toy. I did know what to expect I just thought it was going to be like kid quality stuff but the pictures are really clear. And it's a tough little camara. My baby has been througing that thing around since he got it today.
My son Bryan was so very excited to receive his first digital camera. He had so much fun playing with it for all of ten minutes before one of the buttons was pushed in and stayed in....no amount of trying to extract the button from its lodging was fruitful. We will return this one and try again and I certainly hope this was a defect that will not appear again
This camera is easy to use..my little one loves it..the only problem is that i cant get the PC camera function to work on my computer..all it says is "can not connect to device"..has anyone else had this problem
This product is amazing. My 4 year old grandson absolutely loves having his own camera to take pictures and video. I can't wait to put them up on the computer so he can choose which to keep and decide which ones he could have done a little differently. It will be fun to cut a DVD with his work. The drop test has not been applied yet but it is so durable I think it will pass. Again, colors, ease of use and capability for the money made it the perfect birthday gift!
This camera has a tiny viewing screen on the back, making it very difficult to view the picture just taken. It also takes very poor quality pictures. You're better off buying a disposable camera or a cheap digital. This is definitely not worth the money.
the camera is a piece of junk! before christmas we wanted to put the batteries in the camera, so it would be ready to go when our daughter opened it christmas morning. in the process of pulling the small black door (that holds the flat battery) out, it broke and we had to use tweezers and plyers to get the door out of the camera. this camera is cheaply made. we couldn't take it back because i bought it on sale last year and the return policy had expired. i called the company and they do not give exchanges without the receipt and they do not have replacements parts (said they don't make the parts) that tells you something! you get what you pay for, we should have bought the fischer price kids camera!
