BLACK PINE MUMMY BAG
THIS BAG IS NICE - IT HAS MORE ROOM AT THE SHOULDER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD. NOT A LOT PADDING IN THE BODY OF THE BAG. THE STUFFING SACK IS TOO SMALL TO GET THE BAG BACK IN WITHOUT A GOOD FIGHT. I HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR LAST 15 MINUTES TO PUT THE BAG IN THE SACK, AND ITS STILL NOT GOING IN. NICE DARK COLORS ON THE OUTSIDE OF BAG, AND LIGHTER COLORS INSIDE. I'M NOT SURE IF I LIKE THE NECK AREA, WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.

awesome sleeping bag
My DH and I are planing to do some car camping along the coast. Our last experience with car camping left us to believe that serious cold weather sleeping bags would be a good investment. I knew he would need a slightly less warm one than mine, I wanted them to zip together. I got the purple "Nirvana" 10 deg he got the gray "Graystar" 20deg. I didn't ask for left and right matching so they could zip, but they come from Overstock that way!! This bag is called "Graystar" and the compression sack that comes with it says so. The stuff sack is very nice quality, but too small for the sleeping bag. It's about a 20liter compression sack (9"dx 17-18"L compressed), but I've repacked it in the 30 liter sack (that came with the 10 deg bag) which fits it much better. The sleeping bag is very warm, fluffy and cozy. I could tell it was noticeably less heat reflective than the 10 deg bag, but still very warm. DH loves that it has lots of room throughout so it does not feel like a mummy sleeping bag. The hood is extra cozy, quality good. Zipper got stuck slightly in fabric but we were able to get it out. I was going to say that the zippers could be beefier, but I misaligned the zippers while zipping the 2 bags together, and then was able to unjam them without too much trouble. He suggest is it the perfect bag if you have a base camp, car camping, or an external frame backpack to carry the bag, it is not so much for backpacking as it is very bulky. He's very excited to use it again

A really great mummy bag
This is the second Black Pine mummy bag I have purchased and they are great bags. The holofil (sp?) is so nice; keeps you warm and comfy. We use these for tent camping and the coldest night I've encountered so far was about 32 degrees, but I am pretty sure the rating is true and that a 20 degree night would be just as tolerable. The hoods have drawstrings and velcro to seal out cold air and the bottom of the bag has D-rings for hanging it out to dry. I don't backpack, but the bag is light enough that it would seem appropriate for that. For folks who have trouble with the stuff-sacks, remember NOT to roll the bag before stuffing, but start by jamming the end of the sleeping bag into the sack, rotate, stuff more, rotate, stuff...you get the picture. It will come back out a little wrinkly, but smooths out eventually.

Very warm
I used this on the ferry to Alaska where the wind was whipping around 40 mph. We were inside a tent but the wind was pushing the tent over and I slept through all of it because of the hood in this sleeping bag. It was very warm, nicely padded, and again - the hood made all the difference. Only complaint is the zipper - have had trouble with it catching on the material.

Totally fab bag. Seems warm enough to withstand colder temps than rating.

Overall this is a good product. The only big disadvantage is that it is hard to fit it in carrier bag. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this product.
