Barska Loaded Gear AX-50 Hard Case

I recently purchased my first pistol for home security/ defense. Dissapointed to find out that it didn't include a case a negotiated a discount on the gun and decided to put the money I saved toward an after market case. I originally got a Pelican single pistol case but it seemed way too small and I returned it. After a week or so of scouring the net for just the right case I settled on this one based on the pictures/ price/ dimensions. The pistol has a diamond plated print and I liked that this case appeared to have a similar diamond plate print on the sides as shown in the pictures that would match the gun. It shipped fast and arrived in a box inside of a box/ wrapped in plastic/ new. I was disapointed to see that the diamond plate print was replaced by stripes and a stamped plastic "Loaded Gear" logo on each side of the case. The outer materials are primarily hard plastic, not rubber or aluminum. The combination was easy to set but does not seem to be too sturdy, the number wheels are a little loose and the latch could easily be broken open be a determined individual. The hinge on the inside is cheaply made and attached by one tiny screw at each anchor point which I had to tighten and will probably come loose again later. The inside is slopily covered/ with a glued down, thin foam padding skin w/ ~1 inch mini eggcrate foam on the top and bottom. The pre-perforated foam layer worked but is mishapen in the corners/ near the latch where it was crammed in and the non-perfd edge is inconsistent in width. If you are looking for quality made and secure case for a gun or other valuable I would recommned spending a little more $ for a pelican or similar. I decided to keep the case to avoid hassle of return btu will most likely replace it in a year or so.

• How accurate was the sizing? The dimensions were fairly accurate
• Please tell us about the quality of the product. Sides do not have "Diamond plate" print as represented in the pictures
• Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Looks fairly well made from afar but interior and security leaves something to be desired.
