A big plastic bag with handles & strap!

It has no side pockets so you need to reach all the way down into the deep bag to retrieve anything. More of a laundry bag than a tote bag. Overstock did go out their way to help me to return this bag

  • It's good for smaller items

    Dec 18, 2011

donna101279  from New Orleans, LA, Rating:4.0

I didn't realize that the full size before folding and snapping it shut is 5 liters. After securing the product, I would say the actual room for storage is about 2 liters (give or take 1/2 liter). This product is a nice size for storing a cell phone, keys, sandwich,etc...smaller misc. items....It's still a nice size for me to use when I go kayaking..

I really like the size and proportions of this backpack. I hike , climb, and backpack regularly and having panel access is really nice. At 6'3" it's nice that the pack fits tree length of my back. I don't think that it is overly long by any stretch but it's cool that the hip - belt isn't around my bellybutton like on my Kat pack. I am not a fan of the water bottle nets and find them to be too shallow for standard Nalgenes. I have to clip my bottles to the cinch straps for security (my wife's Approach 30 has the same issue). When the pack arrived one of the zippers was gapped rendering the side panel useless. I had bought it for a trip and already sold my last pack so I contacted Overstock and they gave me the green light to use it anyway and then mail it back when I returned. Meanwhile they dispatched a replacement so that I wouldn't have to wait. Unbelievable customer service. I am definitely a fan. I just wish that Mountainsmith would fix the two issues that I encountered.
