I agree with the other review. the handle isn't the best looking. Overall, it was worth the money. I am not a sword collector just wanted to mount the sword next to a paining and it looks great together!
I purchased this sword as a wedding gift as my brother has a pirate themed game room. The sword is very average and not authentic in appearance. The "cherry" handle appears to be made of plastic or epoxy and NOT wood, as described. The blade is dull. The sword sheath offers the worst dissapointment. It is obviously made of stiff vinyl. I'm not inclinded to return merchandise due to the hassle. This is definitely an item to return if quality is anticipated. I felt embarassed to offer this gift and compelled to buy a supplemental gift.

Handle and hilt of the sword are exquisitely beautiful and the black leather sheath is a perfect complement to the sword. The down sides are that the only really sharp part of the sword is the tip (nothing a wet stone won't fix) and a few minor scratches on the blade. Overall, it is a very good buy. Oh, and the blade has a nice ring to it too.
