I used this lantern once and put it away until the last power outage. Went to wind it up and nothing happened.There is an on / off button, however; you do not know which mode your in!! There are no instructions for this item either..Also, when winding this unit up sometimes a red light is showing inside unit and sometimes a green light is showing. I am not sure as to what each one represents.. The bottom line is no matter how long I rotate the handle the light is not coming on.I would like to know where this item was made also. Poor workmanship.....and no instructions....I am very disappointed with this item.If I am doing something wrong ( preventing it from working) I would appreciate any information from anyonelThank you in advance.....

We bought this lantern for a camping trip and paid extra to have it rushed to us. It works fine, but I found that it was not as bright as I had hoped. In a fairly small space, it was not bright enough to enable us to read well. It does re-charge well when hooked up to the car cigarette lighter. There was virtually no instructions with it so we don't actually know if the green light means it charging or is fully charged. It would have been nice if it had a few instructions with it. On the whole, it's a pretty good product. We haven't used the windup feature yet, but other reviewers gave it high marks for that. It seems durable and the size and design are good. It has a handy little hook at the top that makes it possible to hang it anywhere.

I bought this because our electicity goes out regularly, does'nt matter what time of year. It seems like people who live in the hurricane regions,should have one. It's great because you can charge it up in a outlet and use it til the battery goes dead,then just crank it up and your all set again! Maybe FEMA should hand these out with the food and water to people in a disaster area. Just a thought!

After ruining a lantern because the batteries leaked, I boght this. It's great! Not much cranking to get a few hours of light & always ready to go when you need it. Not a lot of light but it will get you from room to room to find what you need.

Don't waste your money, it worked fine for a while, but then the on-off switch became difficult to press in, and the light itself became finicky and eventually wouldn't ever come on.

Stay clear away from this poorly made pragmatic item to have around the house in case power goes out or for your car. Broke first time trying to use it and so did replacement product and got refund...no longer sold here and know why! Was very disppointed!

Better than advertised. Used for a power outage and was extremely impressed. Provides ample light with very little cranking. I want to buy another, but they are sold out.

Soon after we received the lantern we had a power outage that lasted for 4-5 hours. The lantern did an outstanding job and we were happy with the light provided by the lantern.

We needed this lantern shortly after we purchased it. It works great. A few minutes of cranking and we had lights for a very long time
