Great quality and clearity. They are a great pair of bonculars and I glad I purchased them. I am still waiting for hunting season so I can use them.Read More
These binoculars were extremely difficult to adjust not only by myself but also others I asked. I could not get them to work no matter how much I tried and one eye view stayed completely blurred.Read More
These binoculars lack the optical quality I expected get from the companies "Top of the Line" binoculars. Images appeared to have an amber tint and were about as shape as you get with budget binoculars. I have purchased a pair of Olympus Troopers and they are superb at less than half the price. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BARSKA PRODUCT.Read More
I wanted a new pair of binoculars for a trip to Alaska next month and also do a lot of back yard bird watching. The pair I had just did not bring things up close enough for me, so hence a new pair was in order. These binoculars from Barska are excellent. They are not too big and cumbersome, but bring the subject up close and personal! Love them.Read More
Love the binocs.... bought for my bf as a gift. Love them and will probably use them more than he will.Read More
If you love birdwatching and discovering birds that may not be in your area, don't leave home without these binoculars. Not too bulky, easy to focus, and easy against the eyes (unlike some others that seem to push your eyes). These are rugged enough to go anywhere. We enjoy them everyday!Read More
These binoculars are so sharp. I previously had a pair of 8x22, and the ability to see so-oo much better is amazing with these. I can see w/o any haze at all. The adjustability is also a PLUS! Great for eye glass wearers as well. They are not hard to adjust from one person to the next (which is a big PLUS!Read More
I have a set of 8x binoculars by Audubon... I ordered these after a birding trip (in the rain) because of the great price and they were advertised as a stronger 10x as well as being waterproof. MY EXPERIENCE: The strength seemed equal to my 8x set (I.E. the birds are not closer viewed through this set of binoculars), and my "shake" is more prominent in this set of binoculars than my existing Audubon set... so I returned them. If you are not old and "shaky" like me, you might like these, they have a nice rubbery grip and they are a good price.Read More
This is a quality pair and replaces our old, heavy ones which we now keep in the car to read distant road signs. This new pair is better with the adjustments and the size and lightness of the product. I would have given maximum amout of stars if the rubber lense cover were tight enough to stay on .....it is the one large one; the eye lense covers fit fine.Read More
The magnification on these binoculars is terrific! The look of them is sleek yet masculine, a perfect B-Day gift for my husband. And, as usual Overstock is right on target! ThanksRead More

How to Care for Binoculars
Thanks to the zooming power of binoculars, you can gain access to sights that would otherwise be inaccessible. Binoculars are perfect for bird watching, taking on a hike and a plethora of other uses. However, spotting sights are only as good as the maintenance that goes into them. A broken or dirty pair of binoculars isn't going to do the job correctly. Whether you have a pair of bird watching binoculars, night vision binoculars, a monocular or any other variety of binoculars, they'll only work correctly if you give them the proper care. Make sure you keep the window to nature open by keeping your binoculars in good working condition. Here are some tips to make sure your binoculars have a long shelf life.

Best Binoculars for Stargazing
Telescopes have long been regarded as the primary tool for amateur and professional astronomers. But for backyard stargazers, the right tool could be a high-quality pair of binoculars. Less expensive than telescopes, binoculars can provide the stargazer with views of the moon, planets and even the occasional galaxy. Just as if you were buying a telescope, though, you want to consider several factors and features of the different kinds of binoculars before making your purchase.
How to Use a Spotting Scope
A spotting scope is a good alternative to binoculars and telescopes. Spotting scopes have more range of magnification than binoculars and are easier to carry and more compact than telescopes.
Spotting Scope Fact Sheet
Spotting scopes, sometimes referred to as monoculars, are small, telescope-like optics that began as tools used by the military. Today, they are widely used in the consumer market for hunting, bird watching, viewing ships, scoring shooting range targets and photography. Spotting scopes can mount on a common camera tripod and are quite suitable for daytime use. They provide more magnification than binoculars and are more portable than most telescopes.

The following terms can help you understand what aspects of your night vision device will affect how well you see when you use it.

If you're a beginning hobby astronomer, where should you start? Are refracting telescopes best, or are reflecting telescopes? Should you buy the most expensive telescope you can or start small? You can ask hundreds of different questions about buying a first telescope, but a good way to begin your research is to clear up a few common myths about telescopes.
Night Vision Buying Guide
Night vision devices have been in use since World War II, but in recent years, night vision has become available to civilians as well. Night-vision devices allow you to see in very low lights. Like other optics and binoculars, night-vision devices can also magnify objects so they will appear closer, but the main use of night vision is to see things that your eye wouldn't normally be able to see in the dark or in low light. With all of the great uses for night vision, you may want to join in the fun, but if you're not sure how to buy night vision, then it can be tricky to know where to start. This night vision buying guide was designed to help you understand the different types of night-vision devices so you can find the one that works best for you.
Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills. Most Popular Types of Garden Fountains
Fountains add the relaxing sound of running water to any setting. Outdoor fountains allow water to spout, jet, pour or trickle into a basin before draining away. Fountains range in size from burbling rock gardens ideal for tabletops to large pieces of public art. If you live in an urban area or a busy apartment complex, you can use a fountain to create a sense of privacy by masking traffic and other noises. When choosing an outdoor fountain, first consider how much space you have. Many yards can accommodate large pedestal-style outdoor fountains while a smaller fountain will create a focal point in a petite flower garden. The longer the waterfall, the more noise it creates; consider volume when choosing your garden fountain.
