The 4th of July is one of the biggest holidays of the year in the U.S., and for good reason! Who doesn't love fireworks, barbecues, and parades? Not to mention that it's our chance to celebrate liberty, freedom, and our nation's independence.
One of my favorite ways to celebrate Independence Day is to get all decked out in red, white, and blue. It helps that they're already some of my favorite colors to sport, but it seems that the classic colors have become a wardrobe staple for just about everyone on the 4th. After all, who would pass up a chance to rock some star spangled styles?
Check out this collection of patriotic pieces to mix and match for the 4th. With looks for your family, your house, and you, there's something for everyone in red, white, and blue.
Let's start things off with red. This sizzling shade packs a lot of punch for your summertime style. The 4th of July is often one of the hottest days of the summer, too, so a festive swimsuit is in order. This red and white striped bandeau bikini is the perfect patriotic look for the pool, and who could resist these little boy's lobster swim trunks for the kids? Add a little radiant red to your home for the holiday with a bold chevron rug or these red metal stars.
White may be the subtlest color in the American flag, but there's no better way to beat the summer heat than to don some cool, crisp white. A pair of white linen shorts perfectly fits the bill, and your man can keep cool in a handsome white straw fedora. White also helps to tie your red and blue looks together. Don bright white accessories, like a chunky watch, to balance out the bolder hues.
Blue is possibly the most versatile color on the list. You can rock anything from deep navy to light sky blue for the holiday. Try a deeper shade with this breezy blue and white chevron maxi dress or go bold with bright blue peep toe pumps.
As for your home, add a dash of classic blue with a few accent pieces that will last through the 4th and all summer long. I absolutely adore this patterned chair (it's sitting in my living room right now). The ikat design is a modern take on a vintage style that would fit into any home. Perk things up a little with some blue and white throw pillows for your sofa, too.
I hope you all have a happy, and stylish, 4th of July! Do you have your patriotic look all picked out? What's your favorite way to celebrate Independence Day?
