Made in Vietnam, this large beach ball size bamboo cocoon for a shy feline or pooch pleases this caregiver and her furry companion. I was relieved it wasn't as large or tall as I imagined but I thought the ads must use young or small cats. The opening is a littler lower than sofa height and the outer top of the ball probably reaches even with a sofa arm and a cat sitting in it is about as much room he or she will have in height. No long stretches against the back unless s/he enjoys a back bend. (It sort of reminds me of something on the top of a ship.) The front edge is a bit rougher than the rest. It was simple and fast to put together bolting from inside the ball to attach to the spool-like base, which is not elongated like in the ad picture; it's more like a squat hourglass. There was a Velcro piece that was glued on the base but it came off before I even had it out of the box. It is for the airy puffy cushion and if you don't use a cushion the tops of the flat ratchet bolts will be exposed. I am going to try out the skidless mats the other people mentioned, but it would need to be placemat size. Overstock shipped extra fast with clear notifications so I was ready for the UPS driver. I wanted this ever since it came out and will wait for a big sale to consider another for my sisters' pets. I have wicker and teak furniture and it complements them.Read More
Even though most of my cats don't use or show much interest in the kitty ball, all isn't lost as it is a good looking sturdy piece of furniture. It comes with the comfortable kitty pad and is easy to assemble. Hopefully, they will use it eventually. I will try catnip spray.Read More
I was so looking forward to receiving this bed, but when it arrived there was significant damage around the entire rim of the 'ball'. I don't know if there was damage to the base because I didn't bother taking it out of the box. I was very disappointed. For the cost, it should not have been so cheaply made. On the positive side, it would be cute if not damaged and very lightweight. It seemed smaller than the described size, but would probably be adequate unless you have a very large cat.Read More
This cat bed is perfect for my mid century modern home. I put it in front of a window and my kitty can lounge and see what's going on all at the same time. The item is good quality and Overstock's price can't be beat.Read More
Finally, a cat bed that looks like a nice piece of modern furniture. Even if your decor is not modern, I could see it fitting in with many styles as well. Assembly was easy, just 2 screws and they give you a tool to fasten them with. In the box, there are 3 pieces, the top, base and plush cushion that has Velcro on the underside to help keep it in place. This is a sturdy and attractive cat bed, go for it! :)Read More
I love that this bed is eco friendly. Assembly was simple. Two screws and they provide the tool. The ball is really big and my big guy can easily jump in and curl up.Read More
Questions & Answers
Look at this item, 13799649. It is the color you are looking for in the same shape.
They make a faux darker one in a fake bamboo weave but I found it had a horrible smell and my cats wouldn't go near it. Sorry, this seems to be the only color. It goes with any room décor.
Hi, Im thinking of buying this & as I live in the UK I'd like to confirm this is not a factory second or a return? The item I will receive from you would be to the same standard as if I'd bought directly from Refined Feline? Thanks
This is not a second or a return.
