I recieved my gate in a timely manner. It is well made. I was worried at first because the doorway I'm using it in has a baseboard at the bottom, making the fit difficult, but I was able to unscrew the bottom screw, push the sides tight against the baseboard on each side and then tighten the screw until it was a firm fit, then I "fanned" the top out until it was tight against the sides of the doorway and tightened the screw till it was a tight fit as well.. This made it secure, along with cross legs, so that my pug puppy can't push it out of the way. No more sneaking into the livingroom to make a deposit for him. Thank you Overstock.
I was pleased with the versatility of this pet gate. Being able to lengthen or shorten the gate is very helpful. It stands sturdily and is the perfect height for my Jack Russel Terrier. Not having to attach it to my walls is an added bonus and the stands provided hold the gate up quite well.

I'm very happy with this doggy gate & the extension. We needed something that looked nice in front of our dining room and this does the trick! Spoke with an Overstock sales rep on the phone because I had difficulty selecting a color (color swatches were not shown online) and she was very helpful. We ended up ordering it in Walnut. Gate arrived fast and was easy to install.

We needed an attractive pet barrier between the parlor and the dining room in our 1896 Queen Anne Victorian home. Our dogs are well mannered and do not attempt to breach the gate--more rambunctious animals probably no doubt could. The best part? The gate was half the price of what appeared to be the same gate at Target.

This is not the most stable unit and should only be used on small, small dogs. One of my dogs jumps over it and the others try to rush it to make it move. They push with their heads and shoulders. Screws to attach extension unit to 2 free-standing units were the wrong length and I am trying to get more now mailed to correct problem. Wood is not nearly as stable as other arrangements I have purchased. Hassle while I wait for the screws as I cannot use the unit.

I liked the product, it does the job I have 2 pugs and the gate keeps them out of areas of the house where they don't belong, like the formal living room, and off the hardwood floors. I ordered 2 gates, one of the spindles was cracked on a gate, I should have sent it back for a replacement, but it was barely noticeable. Only problem I found with the gates is I would have thought with a product this nice, it would have come with plugs to cover the holes where the bolts connect, the silver bolts show up plainly against the white background. Plus if you do pick up the gate, the "feet" fall off right away, but I corrected that problem with a bit of non-slip fabric at the junction.
I bought this as a way to keep my pug out of the living room when I'm not home. I've had full-sized gates in the past, but they're a pain to move every time I want to get by. This one does the trick. It was easy to assemble and iis easy to step over, yet my pug can't (or doesn't) go over it. It does have the option to screw it into the wall, but I just use it as a moveable gate, so that I can just put it aside when I don't need it.

I read the reviews for this gate before I bought it. Some reviews said this gate was best for smaller dogs. But it is also good for bigger dogs too that are very old and don't have the strength to jump over the gate. I bought this for my dog, which is a big, 75 lb lab that is 14 years old. In my dog's younger years, he would have no problem jumping over the gate, but now that he is much older he can't jump over it. So the gate works great to keep him out of some rooms, yet small enough for me to step over it.

I have a pair of Havanese dogs . They are about the same size as a Maltese and are very people oriented. I have found this to be very useful. It contains my dogs without whining as they are able to still see us and have never attempted to jump it. It is also a very well made item and the finish is excellent.. Very easy to put together and I like the idea that they are free standing. No holes to drill in walls or marks from the pressure on the walls. I would highly recommend these gates for anyone with small dogs.
Great sturdy gates. Keeps my four dogs out of rooms that we don't want them in, and also doesn't look terrible! Very attractive and blend in well.
This is exactly what we wanted. I have seen this product in other catalogs for $40 more. Delivery was prompt.
