Good product-does what it says
So far, we have had no problems with this unit. The battery charges in 12 hours as stated and stays charged about 5 days. We do not leave it on all day, only about 8 hours, as instructed. We have not tried using it at a great distance yet, but I have used it from inside the house and the signal goes through the wall out into the yard, as long as I hold the unit up level with or above my head. If a person watches the video and follows the instructions, they should be satisfied with the results. We are taking it slow with our American Bulldog. We have worked on no more than 2 things at a time, so we don't confuse him. He was already 6 months old when we got him and had virtually no prior training, and really didn't know what was expected of him. He jumped on everything and everyone, chewed everything in sight, ate the cat's food, etc. So far, he is responding well. The jumping is nearly under control. And he is getting better with the other things. He also responds better to my voice commands even without using the collar. I guess he is learning that I am the pack leader. LOL (Watch the video!) We also are trying to boundary train him, and I am happy to report that we are able to take him out in the yard without his leash for short periods. A few weeks ago, I wouldn't have dreamed of taking him out leashless. There is no way he would have stayed in the yard. He has responded to the collar so well that I think with further training, we will be able to trust him to be outside on his own for short periods. Although he is very stubborn and has an extremely tough neck (other types of training collars, choker chains, etc. have had little effect on him), we have found that he responds well to a setting of 3. I can't imagine we'll ever have to go to 8. I suppose we didn't need the "stubborn dog" model, but am glad to have it anyway, because of the rechargeable batteries. The cost of the batteries for some of the other units would jack the overall price up pretty fast. Overall, we are very satisfied. Just be sure to watch the video and follow the instructions.

I'm amazed. This trainer is worth it's weight in gold. Pricing is right . Quality is excellent. Works great. It saved my 80 lb Rottie from being hit by a p/u truck doing 40 mph in a 25 zone an he blew the stop sign. I have only had to shock her 4/5 times since she is a very vivacious girl..lol.. Now i only use the tone and she obeys immediately and is right by my side. Highly recommended. Thank you overstock and SportDog for a fabulous product.

SportDog Stubborn Field Trainer
My neighbor had one of these for his lab and let me try it on my very active 160 lb Great Dane. I had been through 6 different types of collars/harnesses, a behaviorist and a trainer and still couldn't control him. The first time I used it, it worked beautifully. You have the option of just beeping the dog to break their focus and often times that is enough to get them to listen. This collar has enhanced both our lives. Because I'm no longer exhausted and sore after a walk, I'm taking him out for longer and more frequent walks. He is SO happy to be going out. I don't find this static electric shock to be inhumane (I tried it on myself) and he certainly isn't traumatized by it. All my neighbors have noticed how much better he's doing on our walks. It's such a relief to me to know that I will be able to control him when it counts.

Quality Collar and Easy to Use!
We looked around several sights and the price for this collar was as comparable to other places; bonus free shipping when used overstock.com! This collar is simple to use, right out of the package. Lots of notches so it will fit the dog as they grow and comes with a leash. Great product!

Training Collar
This is a really good training collar. I've used them in the past and they were very bulky and hard to handle. The remote is lightweight and is high quality. The price from O.com was really good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good training collar for their dog. It's sturdy, waterproof and is all rechargeable. I'm really happy with this product.

Good product
Have been using for a month-I like that it is so easy to turn on and off-I think it is actually easier than the Innotek ecoller that I have-the battery doesn't last as long but it lets you know quickly when it is low and the re-charge set up is nifty and quick. Wish they would make this in a 2-dog version. I have a hard headed fellow with big prey drive and aggression-and this helps me keep him from getting himself in trouble and getting lost when he bolts after a critter or gets aggressive with another dog. He has a big pain threshold so it is really hard to get his attention when he is in the "zone" and I had to use the maximum setting on the Innotek collar I had-plus the warning beep on this product is louder than my Innotek so that helps get his attention too so I actually have had to "zap" him less because of that-which is nice for both of us.

GREAT! It's like I have a new dog!
This has been the best investment ever! I purchased this for our 1 year old Great Dane as he was uncontrollable on walks and around the house. I bought it after I was practically dragged across our front yard so that he could get to another dog. I needed something to make him manageable, even when I had my two children in tow. This absolutely did it. We go outside now without a leash, he listens to commands now, even when the collar is not on - all within a month of purchase and without surpassing level 3. My husband was away when I started training and when he returned, he agrees that we have a new dog. Amazing product, Great value for the money!
