We live on 11 acres and have an extremely friendly golden retriever. He was fine as long as we were outside with him but as soon as we would go inside he would sneak down to the neighbors and play with their dog. We purchased this in-ground pet fence system and installed it during one weekend. We had to buy additiona wire to cover the 11 acres but it was worth it. He can now roam the entire property and knows his boundaries even when he doesn't have the collar on. There transmitter has several different settings and you can increase or decrease the range from the fence to meet your specific needs. The collar also comes with several differen strengh settings so meet the required needs for your dog. The fence works great and we would recommend to anyone looking to keep their pet safe at home.

We installed our Sportdog In-ground Fence system about 3 weeks ago. Installation was very easy and we found the quality of wiring we put in the ground to be very good. The system comes with waterproof covers that allow you to connect wires throughout the areas where the fence is being installed. We had previously used an obedience collar/remote with our cocker spaniel so training was SOOOOO easy. He's already trained and is so happy to be able to come in and out of the house whenever he wants. The first couple of days he would only sit in near the house in "safe" areas. But in just a few days of training he realized he has access to the entire yard. We have the system set on the lowest correction setting but since the first few days he hasn't set it off once. I would highly recommend this system to anyone wanting to keep their pet safe and at home but allow it some freedom at the same time. Great product!

Great product easy to install- I heard after the fact that hardware stores rent a machine to install the wire that requires no digging. Easy to hook up- Had some trouble with the transmitter and customer service was great aobut walking me through the trouble shooting process- Totally worth the moneyand time to install- My dog no longer runs away!!! We can enjoy her off the lease and she gets the excercise that she needs.

We purchased this over 15 months ago and have been absolutely thrilled. We ran the fence around a full 1.5 acres. My husband ran a lawn edger to just cut through the topsoil enough to bury the wire. I followed behind poking the wire down the thin slit in the soil. Two sides of the property are fenced on which we attaced the wire directly to the fence just above ground level. Easy!!! In one area thick with blackberries, we attached the wire to the end of long pieces of PVC pipe fitted together and pushed the pipe "auger style" through the berry patch, pulling the pipe and trailing wire out the other side. We worried about training time with our 6 month old Lab/Golden Retriever but couldn't have been happier. It pained us to see the dog learn "the hard way" two times but after that, she spent time creeping slowly around the property feeling the vibration warning or hearing the beeping. Either one would send her running the opposite way. Within two days, training was done! We set the shock setting to the lowest possible and it was plenty - and still is at that same level. The batteries in the collar have actually been dead for well over 6 months and we've had no reason to replace them. She won't pass the property lines. Period. We are thrilled. Very highly recommended!
