Our dog used a martingale collar for many years and I was worried about the D-ring becoming too worn. This collar looked like a sturdy replacement. When it arrived, the chain on this collar was heavier that I expected. I was a little concerned about the weight around Doggie's neck. Well, come to find out, I worried needlessly. The center ring broke at the first use (please understand that I bought the large collar and Doggie weighs about 70 pounds). While Doggie enjoyed part of his escape, the enjoyment faded when he was hit by a car! He is fine now; however, I would not recommend this collar to anyone!
