I read all the reviews here on Overstock and another Website. I was concerned about two things: one the portion size and second, my cat's ability to play Houdini and reach for food. My cat is smart, but never did I think she would attempt to stick her paw up the food chute. I was wrong. The instant I set it done and she smelled the food, her paw was up there. What I did was cut thick paper (about three inches wide and one and three fourths long, and tape it over the extra chute space). So far she had not tried that again and the food come out without any issue. With regard to the portions, my hubby had made saran wrap pillows to limit how much food comes out. Others who have said the portions are too much for small cat kibble are correct. To make this work, some tinkering is needed. Otherwise it is working great. Now we can sleep in on a Saturday and not hear the mournful wailing of our cat.

This is our 2ndPetmate feeder. They work well. You can set up top 3 feedings per day at 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, 3/4cups, 1 cup, and 1 1/4 cups. The only complaint I have is that when the battery gets week you think it is still working but it does not. We are going to buy the wall electric wall pug input to solve this problem.

I know it says that this product is made for inside use only but, I use it in the garage. ( that is kind of inside isn't it ) LOL. Anyway I bought it to keep the Coons out of catfood fed. Well it doesn't do that! BUT I do know that they have knocked it off the shelf that is at least 5 ft off the concrete floor about 5 times now and it is still in perfect working order, still works and hasn't broken any place nor chipped. As far as the coons well, I built a wood frame, screwed it to the wood shelf and added a flip over lid that covers the screw on lid and lock it down. No more coon break in's!!!

I have a huge Bengal cat who loves to eat,so we got this unit to kinda help him,it seems to work good and he has not tried to get into the feeder like some peoples review stated, I would recommend this for anyone who travels alot if you get this a water fountain and a self cleaning litterbox you are good to go on cat maintenance makes life easier......and we all could use THAT!!!

It's really great. The only thing I think I would have like is four different feeding time options, instead of three, and a way to plug it into the wall instead of using D batteries. Still it's good if I have a change in schedule, and makes it easier if people have to catsit to space out meals. Like a dog, my fat cat will eat anything in front of him and get sick, and the opportunity this feeder presents to space meals has helped nip that in the bud.

The product is easy to program, but it randomly dispenses food at other times which defeats the entire purpose. Also, I dropped something on the floor next to it the other day and it also dispensed some kibble. I was hoping this would help with my cat's weight problem, but I have no idea how much he's actually eating when I'm not home! This would be funny if I hadn't paid so much for this product.

The feeder is everything we expected it to be. It is easy to program. Makes my/our life easier at 4:30 in the morning when our cat is wanting something to eat.

Do not buy this unless you have no other choices. While is appears to be decent, it has a few problems. I have on one cat, (a fat one) and I would like to control the amount of food portion. While on the lowest setting for food discharged, it will dump way to much food one time, and about the right amount the next. So, by the time you get to your next setting, (evening), it dumps way too much again. The end result is after a few days, your cat cannot get through the cat door, unless you rob the food dish and put some back into the hopper. Next problem, the hopper bin, is made out of thin plastic (water bottle style) and doesn't have firm lock in tabs, combined with a decent lid but again, it has to attach to a thin plastic supply bin. You have to be very careful when turning the lid, as you have to get it to lock in place a little, and the bottom isn't firmly locked in. Any mistake, and you'll have the whole food supply laying on the floor. Occasionally, the timer feeds the dinner meal twice , resulting in my cat not even being able to walk away from dinner. She just lays there like she is at a buffet. So you get the point. I tried to cancel this order way before it shipped, after reading a couple of other reviews, and Overstock, wouldn't let me. Now I know why. This might work if you have two cats or more, so when all the food is delivered, ............... it's just right. I removed the batteries and reprogrammed the timer so see if it made a correction.... no results, Fat Jack and his cat.

I now own 2 of these for my 3 cats and love it. My first one I bought 3 years ago and it has worked great ever since. The batteries last a long time (6 months or so). The cats can get the food out easily, but when they're doing that, they're just stealing food from their future meal so portion control is not an issue. Keeps feeding time nice and consistent, and the cats don't bother me when they're hungry - they look to the machine!

Easy to program, holds a reasonable amount of food so it doesn't go stale in the hopper.

I was hesitant to buy this product due to the reviews but must say we have had NO issues. Our cats (2 of them) cannot free feed or they will eat it all. In the past we would go away for the weekends and would come back to no food and two hungry cats! We know can enjoy our weeekends away with the Petmate Feeder feeding our cats in our absence. Pleased with the product.

I tried to use the machine for about 3 days but it never dispensed the correct amount of food... i tried a few different things, but to no avail i returned it to Overstock. They were great about the return and helped me get my money back because it was broken. Not overstocks fault i think the machine was bad. My sister has had the same one for a few years and loves it, i guess i was just unlucky.

I really love not having to be home every time my cat needs to eat, but there are a few issues I wish they would have tested out on a determined feline like mine. The issue is that the food does sometimes get stuck. If you shake it a little, it will come loose and everything will be fine. The problem is that my cat has also leaned this trick. He shakes it and sticks his paw up the shoot to get the food to come out even when it is not time to eat. This, in turn, can sometimes cause the power supply to come out of the feeder and turn it off completely. I am too nervous to use batteries because I do travel often and I don't want to be worried that they will run out; but having it plugged in is no picnic either now that my cat has figured out how to unplug it. I have since learned to put the cord under something heavy but that still isn't 100% fool proof. Hope your kitty isn't too smart for his or her own good like mine is...

purchased 2nd feeder for #2 cat so we don't have to measure and dispense cat's food. 1st feeder (same brand) was at least 1/3 more when purchased several years ago at local pet store. no problems with feeder although I may purchase electrical plug so I don't have to think about batteries going dead. bought 1st feeder for overweight cat to help with diet/control which it has done. the only problem is that overweight cat now spends most of his time near unit in anticipation of food dropping into bowl. But at least he doesn't follow me around anymore crying for more food. 2nd feeder is working just as well as 1st and was purchased for self feeding cat who was gaining too much weight as well.

I made the mistake of purchasing this feeder even after the bad reviews! Really this thing is a piece of junk for the price. It worked maybe 3 times before it stopped dispensing the correct portion. Only a couple morsels would be dispensed at a time. If you banged on the feeder the rest would be released. Poor kitty would have been starving all weekend if I had not realized he didn't get his breakfast in our test run before we left. DON"T BUY THIS FEEDER!!!

This is a really great product; however, it does not come with a manual on how to program the settings. Initially when I realized there were no instructions I became frustrated and wanted to return; however, since I am a bit of a technology person, I figured out how to program the settings. I would recommend that your company include the instructions, in order to prevent a large amount of returns. Other than this issue, I am very satisfied with the product and it feeds my puppy at the scheduled time eveery day, I also like the design and color of this product.

I have been using this Le Bistro automatic cat feeder for about 2 wks now. So far so good. I saw some reviews where people had to hodge podge where the food comes out for a steady flow but I have not had that issue...yet. I'm hoping I don't since so far it hasn't been an issue. Easy set up and easy to clean.

The feeder works great. We use Wellness cat food and set it for the lowest portion size, which is 1/4 cup. Our cat hears the food come out from upstairs and goes flying into the basement to wolf it down. She has even started sitting in front of the feeder, waiting for it to release her food, which means she isn't walking around the house begging us to feed her. We just went out of town for 3 days and didn't have to pay someone to come feed her. We are very happy with this product.

We were so excited to buy this so we could leave two cats for several days. However, within hours one cat was sticking paw up feeder and food was falling out easily.. Waste of $$, sad

We brought this because we wanted the cats to stay home while we went away for a weekend. so i heard about this product and gave it a try. It worked really well. it measures out how much you want to give per feeding. we have two cats and it is a great product. so far so good!
