I bought the (up to 20 Pounds) I-Go2 to transport my Boston Terrier on the New York City Subway.the I-Go2 looks cool online, but actually is designed poorly. It's to big and clunky with very little room for the poor little dog inside. There is no instructions, very uncomfortable for the dog and the person using it as a backpack (it's awful!). The wheels are impractical because of the backpack straps which get caught. The dog can't sit up right, nor is comfortable laying on the hard, unpadded bottom. This product is a nightmare, and I've already threw it out and replaced it with something more practical, stylish, and comfortable for my little doggie.
I wonder if the people who say its too small realize you can expand the size with the end zippers on either side. our cat is BIG and she fits fine. What we love about this is we can sit it on the train seat between us and open it up and pet her and she can stick head out and put it on our lap. It wheels quite well and it is quite secure in a car if you put the seatbelt though the backpack straps and the shoulder strap over the headrest. Be careful not to pick it up by the telescoping handle. We had to replace our first one after about a year because we'd been doing that and the telescoping handle broke. Other than that, we love it.
our cat likes getting in it even when he isn't going anywhere. it's much easier to transport him and no heavy carrier to hold.

I bought the carrier because I am a cat owner. I also have some physical handicaps. This carrier is perfect for me and my cat because I can now take the kitty places with out concerns of tripping or dropping it. The wheels run true and smooth, just like a suitcase. And it attaches to the car seat with the seat belt for safety. It is nicely padded and vented for the kitty's comfort. It is also very good looking. I have received numerous admiring comments from people at the Vet's office.

Very good quality, well constructed, great color, strong wheels which is very important (doesn't fall over) Good lead strap. My (otherwise very smart Persian cat) didn't understand he was supposed to sit rather than lie down (maybe dogs understand that better) so he didn't fit into it right. (His old case was long so he could lie down) So I guess its my pet's fault and not the fault of Pet Gear!

This was purchased to take a cat on the airline. Does not fit under the airline seat. Had to compress it on it's side to fit under the seat and the cat was highly restricted because of it. Because of this, I would not give it a five star. I would opt for the other long type carriers intended for airline travel. Because my cat was so restricted in this, she is very afraid of going in it again. However, if you are just planning to tote your pet outside of airline travel, it is an excellent product. Well made, and represented well. Only big enough for a very small dog and mid-size cat.

Product probably won't fit a 20 lb dog. Our dog is about 13 lbs but tall and thin and barely fit

This is my second carrier of this type...My cat outgrew the one I bought him when he was a kitten. I love the fact that it cost less than the first one and it is very solidly made.I can't imagine airline travel with it tho, it would really have to be wedged under the seat and I'm afraid he would be miserable...and very vocal about it.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Image matches exactly, I ordered a different color than the photo, so I don't know how accurate the photo is.

First I want to start off by saying I bought this for my Shih Tzu. He is 11 lbs. He fits just fine and has more than enough room. I even have added a blanket for him to lay on, and he has two very good size toys in there. We didn't need to unzip the sides to make it bigger for him, but from reading other reviews I did that first thing before putting him in there. It's taking him time to like it however, he would rather sit on my lap while I drive but he's adjusting to his new much safer seat.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Very well
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? It was pretty accurate. It described all the features very well. It didn't describe the size well. I read all the reviews before making my purchase.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I think the quality is great. It seems to be made very well. I wish a few things were a little different but that would just be my preference.
I'm preparing to receive two ragdoll kittens...they haven't arrived yet, but I think this product is going to work very well for a while. Ragdolls get pretty big so I'm sure I will need to eventually buy another as they grow. Excited about trying them out someday soon. :) Oh, I forgot to mention that it did not arrive with the shoulder strap as advertised, but I contacted by xx customer service and xxxxxx was very prompt with addressing the problem and the shoulder strap came very quickly. Great company to work with !

I am a first time pet carreir purchaser and wanted a great carrier that wasn't going to be too expensive so before I decided on the I-Go, i did a lot of research. Fotunately I dediced to go with the I-Go 2. I love it!! it is very functional, I use it for my 1 yr old kitty and she acclamated to it very quickly (the first time I put her in there for a trip to the vet) and the size is perfect for her. I love the option of getting the extra space by unzipping the sides. The only thing is that the extending arm to pull as a rolling luggage is not long enough so it is uncomfortable to pull.

When I ordered this carrier I thought well if it can carry a 20# animal it will give my cat ample room to move around as we travel. My cat is 18 inches long, 11 inches high and weighs 9.5 pounds. This carrier is very well made and will suit my needs, BUT it is just big enough for her with the sides popped out. With the sides zipped closed it still fits her, but it is a claustrophobic fit. Depending on body type, the higher the weight after 11 -12 pounds the less likely this will meet your needs even with the sides popped out.. I recommend this carrier for poms, cats, chis, Boston terriers, small to medium jack russels, Min pincers, carin terriers etc.. Well behaved pets are recommended, . This is not a carrier for a aggressive or pawing clawing pet as they will rip open the screen on the front in due time.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? fThe image is good, but there should be a photo of a cat and dog next to the bag so people can make a accurate decision.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? The product is well made, however there is NO WAY a 20# animal of any kind would be comfortable in this carrier.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The carrier itself is well constructed
My cat weighs over 15 lbs. & fights tooth & nail (literally) getting in any carrier...but not this one! After the 1st time she went right in. It is much easier for me to get her to the groomer & vet since I don't have to carry her...just roll her along.
I ordered this carrier in orange and it looks very good. it was for my small dog (10lb) and it is good, spacious and you can use it as a bag, a backpack or a rolling bag. I really like it. The only thing is that I wanted to use it for our travel on a plane (as on board pet) and although it says on the box that it "fits most airlines requirements", it is larger that what Continental allows and I'm worried it won't fit under the sit. So now I have to buy another one...But I'm not returning this one because it is really cool!
- Did the product fit true to size? yes
- How is the quality of the product? good
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? yes
As in other reviews stated the carrier would be too small for a 20 pound dog as in particular the height is restricted due to the slanted design. The clips on the shoulder strap are only made of plastic and very stiff, so it is not to be recommended, if you intend to undo the strap a lot..
The pet stroller, carrier, backpack, car seat, booster was exactly what we wanted and needed to travel with our 13.2 pound Coton however even with the sides expanded, and although the carrier was rated for up to 20 pounds, our chubby little dog was not going to fit and we had to return it. I would recommend this product however as it is so versatile and appears to be well made.
I bought this item a few years ago for one of our dogs. He had a heart problem that didn't allow him to be able to walk very far without having to rest, so we bought him this carrier. It is so great because you can roll your pet with you and it is very easy to use. We had a twenty foot hallway and an elevator ride down seven floors to get outside and he LOVED riding in this carrier. This is so durable! It is also great on trips and easy to store. The handle extends and you can even use the carrier like a backpack! I prefer rolling it though. I think this product is great for small dogs for every day use.
I borrowed one from a friend on my last trip with my dog. I really liked how easy it was take my dog with me. I used the back pack style when we were inside the terminal. I also switched to wheeling my dog around. My dog is 13.5 lbs and fit nicely into the bag. I would expand the sides while in the terminal to give her more room. But, to fit under the seat, I had to collapse the sides. I also had to pick up the floor board so the case would fit under the seat in front of me. On the plane, I left the vent unzippered and attached my dog's collar to the safety harness in the case. This way, my dog could stand, sit, and lay with her head hanging out of the bag. She slept most of the time this way. I never had to worry about her trying to escape the case because of the safety harness. You get this extra board that folds with your bag, I couldn't figure out what to do with it or how it was supposed to fit inside the case. My friend didn't use it either. The directions indicate there is some assembly, but I didn't have to put anything together when it arrive.
I really like this pet carrier. It was purchased for my 13 pound cat and its just the right size for her. It's nice looking, too!
