The PetGear Generation II 21 inch Soft Crate is perfect for my two large cats (one crate for each). This crate is high enough for my cats to stand up in (15 in. high), but small enough to let them snuggle in without being tossed around. My cats are about 20 lbs each, and until now I couldn't find a crate that would accommodate them--- they were all too roomy and liable for them to be tossed around or too short, not allowing them to stand up. The detail and quality of this crate is fantastic. It comes with a moisture barrier pad and a soft fabric pad for the bottom. Three sides have zipped mesh flaps which can be rolled up and held out of the way by velcro "snaps". It has outside compartments for keeping supplies in. It folds up and expands very easily. It lightweight, but rugged. Very well made. There is also a leash, great for dogs, but I don't need it for my cats, so that was a bit extra. The only thing missing that might be nice would be a shoulder strap. I would definitely recommend this for cats the same size as mine. They are very comfortable in the crates-- much less anxious than in the hard shell carrying cases. A great product.

I use this for my toy poodle. At 4 years old, he's only 5 pounds, so it works well. He sleeps in it at night and does ok until the morning, when he hears my alarm go off he starts to scratch at the mesh. Since he's so little, he hasn't ruined it, but a more powerful small dog could. Of course, you need to know your dog before buying something like this. Woo loves his crate and it's great for traveling. I would have given it 5 stars, however, one of the zippers on the front of it gave me a bit of trouble last week. I was able to fix it, but it came off track and I couldn't close it right away. All in all, I'd buy this again though!

Actually this crate was purchased for a friend, because she loved mine so much, and because I love mine so much! I keep it at my shop and my dog uses it for his den. It is sturdy (rigid when set up) but light, well-designed, not bulky. It is fairly easy to collapse, although I rarely need to. The screens on the sides and top give good air flow and visibility for the dog. I have an 18# Cavalier and it is perfect size-wise as a travel crate. And Overstock's price was just right, and they shipped it quickly.

I have a lil maltese and i had him in the kennel about five times with no problem then i came home one day he had been in there about and hr and the netting was torn to pieces and he was just out playing! it is very cute and differant then the average kennels just not durable.

I wanted to stay away from a metal crate for my new puppy. This soft crate fit the bill - it is light weight and very attractive. However, I had to purchase a softer lining. The one that came with the crate was thin with a fleece like material on one side and plastic on the other. It was my personal preference to have my puppy sleep on a softer surface.
