  • My Family FINALLY GETS IT

    Jun 5, 2013

Hi. My name is Edisto and I am a six-month old Spinone puppy. I already weigh 60+ pounds and my mom says -- although she loves me enough to smile when she says it -- that I am "all mouth." Maybe because that's true .... I've never met an object --- ok, I'm sorry about the arm and leg of the sofa -- that didn't invite further acquaintance by gnawing or chewing. So. Because I've already dispatched more stuffed/single squeak toys than many puppies have even considered my mom and dad were getting desperate. Then my mom saw this -- the multiple squeak alligator toy. Whoever said "it's a dog day afternoon" probably works for the company that makes this multi-squeaker alligator toy...... I LOVE IT! Because the squeakers are placed in small, flat compartments, I can't turn them around or bury them in fill so they stop squeaking. So, no matter how hard I try, the gator keeps on squeaking ..... which is really interesting and challenging. Much more fun that my mom's shoes .... or the ...

This is a really fun toy to use with your dog. Although my dogs had not truly mastered maneuvering the knobs correctly, she bangs it enough to get her started. I love how many compartments there are and that they are of differing difficulties. It takes quite awhile to get all the treats out. This is one of the favorite toys I've purchased so far for my dogs. I have a wicked smart dog and a "take-it-easy" dog. The wicked smart one has figured out how to access most treats quickly, the "take-it-easy" dog also like the toy as she can bang it enough to get some of the treats out. So I think all dogs would enjoy this toy.

This is a difficult toy...seemingly higher level than what they advertise. After several practice sessions my dog (who has mastered just about every other game out there) is still having trouble figuring out she needs to use her nose to pop the yellow knobs up with some force to get the treats out. I love the fact that its a hard toy...just keep that in mind when purchasing!

    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. I had to use my own screws and drill new holes as the pieces did not fit together. The cheap screws included stripped after two go arounds of trying to get them screwed in the holes.

This is a great activity for your dog, however the soft rubber material for the top handle is easily destroyed. I looked away for about 4 minutes and my dog had already chewed up the handle. I still have a Buster Cube from years ago made out of hard plastic which is the same idea (roll it around to get treats to come out) and works much better.

My dog goes for this over some of his other toys and the "grunt" noisemaker is still working. He is not that hard on his stuffed toys, not a destroyer, so it's still in one piece. If he were more aggressive with them, it may come apart.
