Bonnie is a less-than-50-pound rescued 4 year-old mix. This bed sits on the front porch for Bonnie, while she waits for the great days of Summer. When the weather turns cold, we'll use the velour side - have no fix yet as to durabuility. No safety issues are obvious.

Rarely are items better than their glowing sales literature and enhanced pictures. In this case, though, the Pet Gear Foundation Pet Bed really is. It is super, duper well made---so much so that my large breed (and large jawed) dog doesn't have a prayer of a chance at breaking through any of the seams. It is substantially thicker than the description---both the cedar bags AND the orthopaedic memory foam. It's so comfortable that I could sleep on it! If you happened to have purchased the Pet Gear large size crate, you'll find that this dog bed fits perfectly inside it---not just in terms of end to end and width to width, but in terms of height too. It smells good every morning when I get my dog out of the crate. The cedar is fresh and nice smelling---nothing like the chemically enhanced (yuck!) cedar sold mostly in products like this. You won't be disappointed AND no----I do NOT work for the company! I'm just really happy with this product!

I purchased 3 large beds for my german shepherds and they we're all torn the first week. The material they're made out of tears easy. For the price I was expecting stronger material (they are dogs) but would have been better off at the local pet store, at least they dont' tear. I would not buy another Pet Gear Nature's Foundation Pet Bed.

Our 75 lbs lab likes it but once in a while she scratches the top middle of the bed to fluff it or fix it. What happens is that the center sinks in because the two cidar chip packs move to the outer edges and leave a split line in the middle of the bed. We have to lift up the two ends and shake the chip back in place. Then our lab would sleep on it again. She really likes to sleep on it and doesn't sleep on our sofa or bed anymore. Other than a little shake work it's a nice bed.

My dog loves it! I just wish it was available in a larger size & more colors!!!

This bed is not very comfortable. The cedar in it is nice, but it's too "noisy," so my dog doesn't want to get on it and it's not very soft.

We have two 100 + lbs dogs and struggle to find dog beds that can hold up to the wear and tear they require. So far, this bed is nice. It only holds one of them at a time, but the bigger of the two dogs loves it. Having both the cool and warm sides for the different seasons is nice and the cedar chips help control ickky dog smell. We haven't washed ours yet but we clean/sweep it weekly and it cleans up nicely. It's comfortable enough to keep them off the furniture - which is the goal!

This bed is terrific! I bought 2 of them for our labs and they both seem to really like them a lot. The side with the cedar has seemed to help the bed hold it's shape, which is a bonus. I haven't washed the covers yet, but I like that I am able to do that when necessary. I only wish this product came in another color other than green, like a neutral tan or taupe color, so it would fit in better with the decor in my home. Other than that, overall, this is a very good product.

Received the dog bed on time. It is a very nice bed and the dog loves it. I like the fact that the insides can be replaced if needed. The only reason that I gave 4 stars on durability is that I've only had it about a week.

My boys tend to sleep on my bed if not comfortable. They love this bed and now I can get a good nights sleep with no little dogs on my legs!
