Best Booster Seat
I am very pleased with this purchase. Most booster seats are made to be used in the front seat, or have straps holding it up. The Pet Gear Booster is made to be used in the back seat (can be used in front also) and does not require a headrest to attach. I purchased the charcoal color to match the gray interior of my car, and found the color to match the photo perfectly. This booster seat is very sturdy, and the fabric has a suede-like texture. The covers of both the seat & pillow are removable for laundering. I even found the packaging to be very nice, enclosed in a perfect fitting, heavy duty, clear poly, and zippered cover. NOTE: In Overstock's description it states this item is a Console booster seat, it is not. It is a standard seat as shown in the photos. I purchased this seat for my 6-pound Chihuahua Jorge, and he just LOVES it. I just attach the built in adjustable strap to his harness (PLEASE do not use a neck collar), and he can easily look out the window or lay down to sleep. Jorge says he is extremely satisfied with this purchase, and so am I.

My dog can safely see!
This is one of the the best things I have ever bought for my 17 lb. Cairn Terrier. We go on lots of trips and he can now see everything. What once were boring car rides are now joyful experiences for my 14 year old little man who needs all the intellectual stimulation he can get to stay young. This connects quite securely to the car via your seat belt but it is difficult to install. Two people make the job a cinch but it can be done with one person. Also, I found that the seat cushion put him up a bit too high and, if I was going around a sharp turn, he was in danger of falling off. So I just removed it and wedged it between the dog seat and the back of the car seat. Since my car seat is contoured this works really well. The straps meant to secure your dog don't. At least not in any way I can figure out. What I did was attach a leash to the D ring on the back of my dog's harness and then firmly secured that to the metal part that attaches the car seat to the headrest. I left just enough slack for him to be comfortable sitting or sleeping. Now, if I have to make a sudden stop or if we are in an accident he is safe from flying out. BTW - all small dogs should wear harnesses. With a collar whenever there is any stress on it (via the leash being pulled, etc.) it impacts on the dog's esophagus. Over time the repeated stresses can collapse the esophagus and your dog can have a chronic cough, choke a lot, etc. PLEASE - PUT YOUR SMALL DOG IN A HARNESS. He or she will get used to it in a matter of ½ hour or so and it is such a gift to the dog. Sorry for digressing but the information on harnesses is so important. Anyway, I also put one of the old fashioned cup holders on this. This is one of the ones that we used to use for beverages, etc. before cars has integrated cup holders. It was made to hook into the window frame area. I hook it over the edge of the seat and my boy always had a drink handy. All in all I just love this and recommend it to everyone I know who has a small dog.

Pet Gear Medium Booster Seat
I love this product! First, I have to say that I was very impressed with the packaging the car seat arrived in (enclosed in a fitting, heavy duty, clear poly zippered cover. Obviously Pet Gear cares about their products). The seat is very sturdy and secure. The suede fabric is very nice and zips off to be laundered. I bought the seat in black to match my black leather interior which it does. The medium booster seat fits perfectly in the front or backseat of my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer. It is very quick and easy to install and uninstall as needed. The built-in adjustable tether attaches to the harness (Please do NOT ever use a neck collar with any type of car seat!) I purchased this for my 5lb Chihuahua and we both love it! She jumps into her seat by herself and has plenty of room to see out the windows or lay down for a snooze. I am so impressed with this booster seat! Worth every penny!

Murphy's new car seat
I got a new car, so naturally, my dog needed a new car seat. She loves it because she's high enough to see out and it's comfortable. Fits the car seat very well and is secure with the seat belt. My friend saw mine and has already ordered one for her dog.

Perfect Pet Pad!
I read all of the reviews before purchasing and I agree with the comments that the tether is a bit long, but it can be adjusted if necessary. This seems to be a quality made product and it was very easy to install in my rear passenger seat. I actually bought two, the small one and the medium one. I have a 7 lb. Maltese and a 14 lb. Malti-poo. The Malti-poo was used to sitting in the front seat, but even I knew this was dangerous for both me as the driver and her as the passenger. When I recently adopted the Maltese, I knew I could not have two dogs crawling on me as I was trying to maneuver traffic from behind the wheel, so I purchased two in their respective sizes. Both pets seem to like them, the tiny Maltese falls asleep every time we are in the car. The Malti-poo does on occasion try to whine her way into the front seat, but because of the tether, she is strapped in and remains safe while we are underway. (So the old dog will just take a little longer to adjust to this new trick, but nonetheless, I am comfortable knowing they are safe.) I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to keep their pets safe and secure while in a car. I enjoy these seats so much, I find that I am taking the dogs with me more even on short trips. You would put your children in a car seat, why not your pets? It just makes sense for the safety of the animals and the driver. I give this a FIVE STAR rating!

Perfect for my Dachshund
This is excellent for the price, my dachshund will actually sit in this when she is not one that likes to ride. I love how it is secure so that she doesn't tumble out if you stop suddenly. Very happy with the seat.
