This is a good, lightweight pet crate that can be easily moved around the house. Our 11 lb, chihuahua-terrier mix has plenty of room in this soft crate. Only has windows on 3 sides, so it works best against a wall. Don't set anything heavier than a magazine on top of it, however, as my husband accidentally bent the top of the metal frame when he set a sack of groceries on it.

My 4 lbs. bichon puppy has been using this crate for (not even) 2 weeks. She started by completely shredding the floor mat, then finished by tearing a puppy sized hole in the front canvas. Since I bought the crate preemptively (more than 30 days ago), my warranty has expired. Yay.

This crate is not made of super tough material, but it is really light weight and perfect for portablity. I have a cocker spaniel and purchased this product for the sole purpose of containing my dog in the car and it is perfect for the job. He is a little bit of a freak in the car and now he feels safe and secure so he's calmer.

I got this crate (27 inches long x 18 inches wide x 21 inches high) for my 25 lb Cocker / Springer mix, and it's perfect. Being able to roll the 'door' open most of the time is great, and helped Mr. Woof acclimate to the new surroundings without fear of being closed in. (He's a new rescue, and crates tend to scare him). The crate pops up and folds down very quickly and very easily. It's lightweight and easy to carry. Perfect for those long inter-state drives during the holidays. Mr. Woof is not a chewer, and the materials is perfect for us. If your dog is an escape artist or a chewer, this may not be the right piece for you. Every now and then Mr. Woof will paw/scratch at the floor (tossing aside the cushion I'd added in the process) before lying down. Thankfully, the material has held up just fine.
I'm very happy with the product. Exactly what I was looking for.

This soft crate provided just what I needed to welcome a litter of toy puppies into the world. The pups were actually born in a cardboard, plastic covered box lined with soft towels and then tranferred to a plastic bin draped with a towel so they did not get a draft the first week of life. Following that time, they were ready to be transferred to this soft crate which made a perfect "den" draped with a light sheet over the top and sides. The mother dog was thrilled with her nest and set to work arranging the soft blankets about her babies. I was able to leave the side "door" mesh open on one side so she could come and go as she pleased and use her piddle pad as needed. This confined the pups enough for the first several weeks of their lives while allowing me easy access to tend to and clean the linens as needed. I could also easily reach a pup if they required any help and assist the first time mommy with her new responsibilities. The crate was siple to set up and popped into place and locked securely so as to provide a safe structure I did not have to worry about. a small blanket, rolled and placed along the inside sides provided extra warmth and comfort for the new babies. As they grew, they would wrestle and chase and peer out of the mesh and this crate gave them a safe environment for first time exploring without getting to far away from "Mom". Once they outgrew this crate and were transferred into a more spacious Pack and Play, I continue to use this crate for the mom as a retreat closeby when she needed a little R& R break- weaning is tough. All in all, this brate has provided us with a safe, enclosed area with easy access for cleaning and care. It is excellent quality and even looks nice in a room, unlike many wire crates. If your dog is not an avid chewer and just enjoys a dim den to call his own, this crate is for you. For those with pups that chew or older dogs that believe they are canine beavers, I would use this crate with caution and supervision. I always provided a rawhide chew ( look for the kind made in the USA sold at local Target and Petco as others can be dangerous to your dog due to the chemials used in the curing process!) and make sure they were played with and tired out before placing my chewers in the crate for the night. We have not had any problems as of yet as they consider these crates their bed and are happy to go into them at the end of the evening. It is also good for travel as long as you do not lift it out with pet inside- you place the pet into this crate once it has been securely set up in your vehicle. I am totally thrilled with this crate and give it 5 stars! Have found nothing else on the market that compares for my needs, save for the larger-sized pet Pack n Plays by Pet Gear.which are great for pets also who may be recovering from surgery or illness or for bedding down your dog at night. This crate does it all and can be easily taken down in seconds and stored flat away when not in use or needed. An Excellent product all around!

This item would be suitable for your puppy, but I would suggest putting some padding in the crate if the puppy is very small. overstockcustomercare1 on May 22, 2012
