I purchased 3 of the Animal Plant Free Standing Wooden Pet Gate and they work very well for my purposes. Our openings are about 40" and these expand to 60" so there is sufficient gate. Our pet is not one who will push open nor climb said gate so they work well. if you have a very large pet that climbs or pushes on the gate, it will not work for you. They are a nice contemporary design and lightweight. If you are seeking a heavy wood gate or one that connects to a wall, this is not for you.
This is an excellent pet gate. It is very sturdy and adult access through the gate is easy. However I purchased the gate to keep my two cats confined and the bar spacing is just a little to wide but they do not jump over the gate. So if you have a cat with a big head it would be purrfect!
Love this gate. I was using a metal gate at the door to my Florida room. It was always awkward to have to release the spring handle to get into the room. This folding gate keeps the dogs out when necessary and still lets the cats go through. Also it is a lot easier to move away for cleaning or when I have to wheel a cart through that door. Neat!
Great for pets I have a pit that jumps very high and she can't jump this gate but she did get through the cat door nice product but I put the rubbers on the wall for extra support my dog is big nice product.
More durable than other pet gates that I have purchased
Attractive and airy, yet sturdy pet gate. Should hold most dogs who are not pushy or actively try to break through the gate. My dog just looks at me as if to say, "Oh, I see how things are," then walks away from the gate. I love the fact that it is hinged to allow for different configurations. It arrived quickly, and I was glad to retire my white, clunky, plastic gate.
The picture does not represent a true image of this gate, because the door looks a look wider than it actually is. The width between the bars is 2 inches which is just enough space for kitten to slip easily through. In addition, pets that are good jumpers can easily clear the top rails. We have five cats one of them is a Senegalese male that can jump five feet. As such for pets that are jumpers this gate even though it is very tall, does not keep them out of any rooms. It can be a challenge to install on entrances that have a baseboards. The door way is narrow, and the gate will slide from the wall your body touches the doorway. When it slide away from the wall, it is difficult to put back in place because of the way the gate closure is made. The closure lifts up to release the gate but if the side pressure mounted screws are out of place the closure handle loses its alignment to the gate. To prevent the gate from slipping, I position by body side ways. We plan on keeping the gate because it is very sturdy and unlike the sliding gates, the gate will adjust for baseboards so that the bottom rail touches the floor. It is also a good price. Worka great. Comes with an extension piece for wider door ways (we did not use the extention). If you install this too tightly, the gate is hard to open. Just loosen the screws and you are good to go. We also removed the pet latch so the pet door swings freely.
Bought this gate to keep my dog out of the family room, well this gate looks like it was specially made for the door way to the room,it fits perfect and adds a special touch to my house. I would recomend this gate if your looking for a touch of class instead of just a "pet gate".
