Good size for our 9lb cat. We use this for trips to the vet, and it's perfect for that. It opens from the top, and both sides zip up at the same time when you pull the zipper handle. This is handy if you have a cat who resists being going into a carrying case - it makes the loading a lot faster and easier. Very easy to carry with handle and/or shoulder strap. Great design - it stores in a small space because it can be unzipped and folded flat, but it won't fold up while it's in use.
We really needed something for our Puggle (25lbs) so she would not roam all over the car and be able to see out the window. Apparently this is a huge deal with her, and the seat does keep her at a height where she can look out without scratching up the dash and passenger door. I like the fact that she is more likely to just stay in the seat and not try to explore when I'm trying to drive. That's a big +
I really like the top door option. The kennel is very light weight. It folds very small for storage. Probably not as big as you think it will be. I like it.
I have only used this product once, to carry two cats to the vet (one 12lbs. and one 16ibs), the cats really had ample room and the carrier really held up to the weight. My husband said it would be great if it had wheels, but then they would have to be removeable, so you could sit it flat without it moving on you. I really like this product so far and hope it stands up to the test of time.
I was extremely pleased with this PetMate carrier. The price was $20 less expensive than I had found at Walmart, Target, Amazon, PetSmart. I was elated to find such a good deal and get exactly what I had been searching for.
