With a little work. . . It's a good starting point, but with 2 big problems. First, the locking mechanism isn't good. It doesn't! You will need to drill a hole and add a bar through the wood to lock the legs open. Second, there's a huge gap at the top that an animal could easily step into, fall through, and be injured. You will need to add a board at the top as a top step/landing. Again, drill holes, add dowels, cut a piece of wood, and put a non-slippery surface on it. All relatively simply fixes if you have the tools, but if you can't perform these things or aren't inclined to take on another project, don't buy this ramp.

Maureen Have always felt that a ramp is easier for our aging pets, but because this ramp is so small, it is quite steep and the material used on the ramp is pretty slippery. My kitty struggled with it. If the shipping had not been so expensive I would have sent it back, but I was able to improve it by putting a thick board under the lower section to make it less steep plus affixing a towel to the ramp to improve traction. The brace that keeps the legs from folding back under did not lock in and I had to tape that. It was also a bit scratched up and incredibly dusty. I realize I am not ordering the top-of-the-line furniture for a palace here, but I would have appreciated a better quality product.
