This cat tree is quite sturdy and well made. It arrived in one piece, no assembly required. The beds comfortably accommodate our 9-10 lb cats, and would probably fit larger cats as well. I don't think it would have room for a particularly large cat (like a Maine Coon) but it would be sturdy enough to support their attempts to sleep comfortably. My only complaint is that the carpet on the back posts has not held up very well. The carpet was pulling off of the post by about the one year mark, and there have always been little piles of carpet at the bottom of the cat tree to clean up. The top of the formerly carpeted posts are quite bare now, but I'm not sure that I want to replace it yet since it's made so well otherwise. The cats still scratch at the wood and enjoy the little hanging toy. If your cat is less fond of scratching carpet than our boy, it would probably be perfect. I believe he chooses those posts over the ones with sisal rope (which have held up quite well) because he likes stretching out to scratch and the sisal ones aren't tall enough for him.Read More
Heavy and substantial, the New Cat Condo cat furniture seems like a good value. I am especially happy that they specify that they don't use adhesives that could be toxic. I am partial to this design because it has two sisal posts. The cat knew it was hers as soon as it was unboxed, and she has slept on the shelves constantly. I was expecting a different shade of green, but I was aware there could be some variability. I do think that the carpet pile could have been a little higher, and that some padding could have been used to get the item to me. (No packing material meant that there was some pressure applied to the top shelf during transit, and it is rocking now.Read More
I have a very similar cat post but it is longer and more solid than this one - I guess that is attributed to the fact that I have had the other one for several years - quality seems to go down every year, but prices don't. It is a fairly good value for the money - and my cats both love it. They jumped on it and started rolling around as soon as I put it out. I have several cat posts in the house, and this one has rapidly become a favorite. The grey also goes well with my decor and makes it blend in better than the tan one I had there previously. (I put the old one on the screen porch so they have another post to lounge on in the sun.)Read More
Wanted a cat tree for living room that was understated ... Not too big to be placed by a window. I have two cats medium weight that just love to play on it together. I can usually find one cat lounging on it during the day too. Have not seen them using the "tube" part however. Looked in several local stores for something similar ... Could not find anything similar plus noted similar store items inferior quality at twice the cost too. Very satisfied!Read More
My cat is a bit longer and taller than any cat I have owned before. She jumps up to the top perch all the time. It gives her a good view of all her surroundings. I can imagine that if it had three tiers or four tiers how exciting it would be for cats. This was a great value to the cost.Read More
The New Cat Condo's are built to last with great quality carpet at prices that can't be beat. I checked at local pet stores and couldn't touch the pricing or quality. My cats love all products I've ordered from this brand. Highly recommend this product.Read More
I bought this scratcher as a window perch for my 2 cats and it is exactly what I wanted. It's not a large condo, but it is the perfect height and large enough that my adult cats can both sit and watch the birds out the window. The perch is very well made and sturdy. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a cat.Read More
Questions & Answers
Hello Angelpony, this product should be good for your cat. Because it is heavier on the bottom, it will help it to not tip over. Also, because it is not super tall, your cat will still be able to fully utilize it. I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for shopping with us!
What are the dimensions of the two top perches? Thank you.
Hi antibe, we were able to verify this information with our support team. The top 2 perches are both approx. 6x16 and can fit most sized cats just fine. We hope that helps and sorry for the delay and thank you for shopping with us.
Does the tunnel allow the cat to go all the way through? What is the diameter of the tunnel? My kitty is big and I wouldn't want him to get stuck. Ha Ha. Thanks.
The diameter would be 9 to 9 1/2 inches. The tunnel does go all the way through.
how high is the shorter perch from the base
The shorter perch is 12 inches from the base.
Do you have to assemble this?

Signs Your Kitty Needs a Cat Condo
A cat condo is a piece of furniture designed especially for your cat. These tall, sturdy structures (sometimes called cat trees) offer cats a place to play, scratch, perch, or sleep. While some cat owners may not feel like a cat condo is a necessary purchase, others know that some cats are much happier when they have their own space to stake out and claim -- space that will prevent the cat from damaging household furniture. If you're not sure whether to buy one, watch for these cat behaviors to see if your cat could use a cat condo.
