Doggie Heaven

Our bulldog has a similar bed she loves that we keep upstairs. It cost three times as much, so when I came upon this one, I thought it would be great to get her a second for the family room at a great price. When it arrived, she tried to scrape the mattress around into the perfect fluffy nest before laying down, only to find that there was no detachable mattress. The bed is all one piece. Poor thing was all confused and I felt terrible that I had cheaped out. My husband told me not to worry, and to give her a chance to get used to it. Within a day's time, we could barely pry her out of this thing. She loves it even better than the expensive bed. NOTE: If you're interested in the khaki, be aware that it isn't at all like the photo. It's a much darker, taupe-like khaki. Attractive, but not the same fabric as shown in the pic. (Which is why I lowered the appearance rating a touch.)

I have one hap-hap-happy dog now!! :-)

I have a greyhound/min-pin mix, about 38 pounds but with those looong greyhound legs so she seems bigger than her weight would suggest. This bed was the absolute *perfect* size for her. She likes curling up in a ball like a mouse sometimes to sleep, and other times she likes stretching out all over the place and hanging her head over the side. This bed is just right for either! She seems to really love how high the sides are, but that they are also soft and have a lot of "give". She just loves this bed, period. She rolls around in it, buries her face in it and makes happy sounds, and just looks so content with her head resting on the side staring at me. :-) I haven't washed it yet, so I'm hoping that it still holds up well after that. It seems to be very well constructed, though, and pet hair cleans off it easily with a lint roller. Thanks, Overstock, for such a dog-pleasing bed!

How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Only variance was color -- the blue is a lot darker than it seems in the image, but that worked out better with my decor anyway.

good product!

I purchased this bed because I am training my dog not to sleep in mine. She is 40 pounds and medium size. If she were any bigger I'd have gotten the next size up. She fits in the bed just fine because she likes to curl up in a ball against something soft or sleep with her head resting on the "wall" of the dog bed. So far it has held its shape and she seems to enjoy it..climbed right in as soon as I opened it! I haven't washed it yet but the fabric seems durable and the seams are strong. The khaki color is a nice neutral beige that goes with my furniture. I have purchased cheaper beds that were flat or round but without the raised sides and my dog either peed on it and walked away or ignored it completely. This one is a success! Worth every penny.

Love my new bed

My family just bought me a new donut bed. It is soft but supportive, has nice, high sides to keep drafts off me, and it's easy to keep clean...just toss the whole thing in the washer. This bed is very well made so I think I will have it for a very long time. Highly recommend it.

Love it!

I have two dogs a Shitz Shu and a Labradoodle and they each have one of these. They go to these when they need to regroup. The positions they get into shows us how much they love them. On their back with feet in the air is their favorite!

Id say this is more a large, than a medium

My dog immediately knew this was her new night-time bed, as she's now unable to jump up on the bed. I think this dog bed will last a long time, seems well made. I'd say my dog is a medium-sized dog, but there's room enough for two of her in the bed. So, larger than I needed. My dog weighs approximately 35-40 ls.

Dog Donuts

I have two medium-sized dogs - a Springer and Brittany. They sometimes relieve their anxiety by pulling the stuffing material out of their beds. I bought them each one of these beds, and three weeks later the stuffing is still intact. The top part of the bed is a tough but soft cotton-duck type material. The bottom is stiffer all-weather material. One of the beds has signs of wear on the bottom like it was rubbed through with sandpaper - I'm not sure if it came that way, or if it got worn down in the last few weeks. My dogs did not take to the beds immediately, and the springer still prefers my bed, over her own. The brittany seems very pleased with her new bed - she starts by sleeping in the center like a ball, and later stretching out to hang over the edges. They are perfect for car rides - both dogs enjoy stay in their respective donuts and sleep for hundreds of miles.
