Substantial bolster/pillow
I was nervous about buying this bed because I have never spent this much on a dog bed before that I had never seen. I typically like to feel the bed itself before I buy it since many of them are filled with cheap, non-lasting stuffing. I had to resort to online for a bed with a bolster. My dog (a black lab) loves the bolster/pillow aspect. The pillow/bolster portion is sturdy but still comfortable. I wouldn't call the inside a sherpa lining, its more a velvet-y/one-directional fabric but I don't have a problem with it. The bottom of the bed has canvas on it and I believe that it will last for a long time and feel comfortable that I made a quality investment. I think after a couple years of use the bottom will become rather flat and I might try to incorporate a 'memory foam' piece to make it squishy-er. I compared the prices of this bed to other sites and overstock.com actually had a slightly better price, they also had a coupon at the time (my main reason for purchase) for 15% off and that was my deciding factor for buying it from overstock.

I was pleased with the accuracy, hard to judge the size and the weight suggestions for the different sizes are what helped me make my decision. However, there were a lot of the "same" beds listed numerous times and with different prices and I couldn't make out a difference between them. I also wouldn't called the center 'sherpa'. Its more velvet-y.

excellent quality
Over 40 years I have purchased countless dog beds including those from well known sites. This bed by far is a quality product. The sides are firm, and the bed holds its shape which is comforting for the dog(s). The only negative is that the center cushion is white and easily shows dirt.

dogs are happy with it
I have 2 45-50 lb dogs and this bed is a good size for them. I actually could have gotten a smaller one (32 inch?) but that wasn't an option. They like the bagel part of it to rest their head on or snuggle into. The only con is that the fluffing is shifting...they sleep on one side and all the fluffing under them is pushing to the other side.

Pretty great
My dog seems to really like this bed. He took a while to get used to the kind with the walls when he used to have one that was simply flat, but he uses it often now. He didn't give up the couch to lay on the floor yet, though. I was probably hoping a bit much there. It has more padding than other dog beds I've looked at and I find it to be much better quality than anything they had at Petsmart, but I'm still not 100% sure it won't just sink down. And I would like the cover to be removable. Finally, its not extremely rugged, my dog tore the fabric a big dragging it from one room to another. All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase compared to other beds I've seen out there.
