This puzzle toy has kept my puppy busy for hours. The squirrels are adorable and sturdy. To make it more difficult, just tuck the squirrels all the way inside.
Max, my 4.5 yr old bull terrier absolutely looooved the chipmunks! I had to stop him from tearing the stump up though. This toy is very cute but my dog has no interest in "finding" the animals. No matter how many times I stuff the chipmunks in the tree stump, he just goes over and picks it up and shakes it back and forth so they all fly out. It kind of defeats the purpose of me buying him an "interactive toy". Max also ate the plastic whiskers off one chipmunk before I could stop him so this toy (I packed it up after about a half an hr of play time) will be going to my mothers 1 yr old american bull dog Sadie. This toy is adorable and if your dog loves searching for things or is good with soft toys then I would recommend it. I just have to come to terms with Max and cute toys not mixing! He would rather a good romp in the yard or a session with his Bad Cuzz or jolly ball.
- Did the product fit true to size? larger than I expected
- How is the quality of the product? okay, the bottom is just thin coardboard covered with fabric though.
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? yes
I have given two of these Hide-a-squirrel toys as gifts for friends' puppies. They immediately became favorites. Not only are the squirrels interesting but also the squirrel house seems to intrigue the dogs! It's fun to watch them get the squirrels out of the house. For a toy that has much more than one dimension, I highly recommend Hide-a-squirrel.
My dog absolutly loves this toy the tree part was lost for a few days and when I found it she was so excited she plays with it for hours I would recommened this toy for all active dogs
My dogs love this toy. It is sturdy and well made.
our pug loves to kill squeaky toys. This toy seemed to confuse her a bit, and is delaying her ruining the toy in the first few hours. its funny to watch her pull out the little squirrels, and (after putting them back in when she is not looking) wonder how they got back in when she returns to the toy later. This is an adorable toy for any dog.
I just got this yesterday. I showed my beagle the squirrels and then put them in the tree. Jerry had a blast playing with this. He ran around the house carrying the tree and had fun "finding" the squirrels.
He loved it, too bad he is so destructive with his toys. He chewed threw this in a day, so if your dog is destructive, this will not last. But if you have a normal chewer its a very nice toy.
Our dog adores Hide-a-Squirrel - she figured it out instantly but enjoys pulling the squirrels out over and over. Sometimes she tosses then around and squeaks them and sometimes she gathers them in a group and nurtures them. She also loves to carry around the "tree" and uses it to steady her nylon bone! I occasionally drop a treat in there or another toy for variety. This probably would not be sturdy enough for a large dog. I check all the pieces daily and have sewn up a couple of tears where the inside and outside of the tree meet.. Our baby is about 12 pounds of hyperactivity and she gives this toy a good workout, so be sure it is appropriate for your dog.
My son's dog Cody loved the toy. It didn't take him long to figure out how to get the baby squirrels out of the openings. He enjoys finding and getting them out over and over again. He especially likes to run around the house with one of the squirrels hanging out of his mouth.
I got this toy for my brother's new pit bull and he loves it. It only takes about 30 seconds for him to get the squirrels out of the log and he has been trying to rip the squeaky toy out of the sqirrel for the rest of the evening.
