The 3 circular platforms are much too small to accommodate any of my 3 cats (11-17pounds). The second tier leave little space for the cat to maneuver ab Nd the second "bedroom" is too small. I wish these dimensions had been available in the description. :-(
I looked at many reviews and lots of different cat trees before I purchased this one. It is very tall and I decided not to attach the top perch. I have two cats and didn't want them to fight for the top. The perches are definitely not for large cats. I have a 12 lb male and a 10 lb female and they both fit ok. Normally a leg or two will be sticking out over the edge. I think the tree could be improved upon will better perches in the regard that stiffer sides would help and if the perch was entirely enclosed the legs probably wouldn't be hanging over the edge but my cats don't seem to mind. I also did not attach the lowest ramp because I have the tree situated between a couch and a loveseat and the space would not accommodate the ramp. The cats don't mind at all. My female loves to cuddle up in the cubby holes. I put a blanket in them for a little extra comfort since the faux fur isn't super thick. I did have a bit of a problem with one of the perches being a little wobbly and it would only tighten up so much. When I took the perch off to replace it with the spare one I didn't use I noticed that the plastic insert that holds the nut in place was cracked. I wasn't too concerned because I might be able to fix it with Gorilla Glue and I had a spare post from the unused perch, which did fix the wobbly problem. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong if you don't move the tree around a lot. I do like the versatility of being able to "customize" the tree to a configuration that suited my needs and space available.
Well I ordered the product but they gave me the wrong product, which I was mad, glad they did, the cats love it, same color and design, just no hanging balls and the three top things where they sit are longer and flat with cover, more room. They would of exchange it, but decided to keep it, I would of rated excellent but it's not the one I got
Sadly the walls on the two boxes appear to be very thin press board, so thin in fact they almost fold like cardboard I bought this to replace an OLD ameri cat tree house and I think I should have stayed with that brand, which was constructed out of wood not pressboard.
I was worried that I might not be able to put it together as I am 62 and disabled. I got the job done in less time then I expected, and with only 2 minor mistakes which were easily corrected. If I could do it, so can you. It is only the second thing that I ever attempted, as I am not usually mechanically inclined. I now have to tackle putting a chair from overstock together.
