Good but needs improvement The good, it really does work and my cat loves it, fortunately she is very small. Here are the two issues I have, first the heating pad is about half the width of the cover so even though it says it is 13" wide, only about 6" of that has heat. Second the cord is pretty short at around 4' You could get two of these and combine the heating pads into one cover and you would want to if you have a large cat. I'd probably buy one again, just disappointed that it's advertised at 13" and only half of that is heated.

Every pet loves this This heating pad is just perfect to put in the bottom of a dog bed, making it a comfy bed for any dog. It's not too hot and doesn't feel warm until you put that pillow over it, let it sit a while and wow!, it is so perfect. My cats have discovered it so I just let them sleep in it until I'm ready to put the pug to bed, then she has a ready-heated bed.

Great comfort for old kitties! My 14-year-old arthritic cat needed a heating pad to get her through the coming winter. She's large and isn't so fond of cat beds, so this large heated mat suits her perfectly. She can stretch out on her side for maximum contact with the pad. Since no one is home all day, I was concerned about leaving a heating pad plugged in, but this one barely feels warm unless the cat is laying on it, and then it feels toasty underneath her. Plus Overstock's price was $10 less than the pet store. Maggie the cat gives this pad a thumbs up!

squashy and comfy! truthfully, I thought that the pad was going to be smaller than it is - maybe the pictured cat was small? Sorry, but that's what i thought! Well, it's plenty big enough for a full grown cat. It doesn't get very warm - to the human touch BUT the cats seem to like it just fine. The main thing I don't like, That I do prefer on higher priced pads, is the cord - it's just a reagular - maybe "heavy duty-ish" cord but not the covered, animal proof cord. But it seems fine to me. They really like it!

Cat heaven My cat loves his new warming mat! With winter on the way, I was concerned that my cat needed a warm spot to sleep on, since we keep the heat rather low. When the mat arrived, we plugged it in, sprinkled a little catnip on it to get his attention, and within a couple of hours, the cat was on the mat! My cat is a large cat, and the large size mat is just right, not too big for him. Since he is an older cat, I think the heat is soothing to his stiff joints, since he seems more mobile in the morning. I recommend this mat to all cat owners.

Nice product I purchased two of these for both of my cats. The oldest cat(16yrs) sat right on the pad as soon as I plugged it in. The younger cat took a little more time to adjust to the mat, but seems to love it now. They do not get hot, but stay a constant "warm" which is something I was concerned with. Now, when I am looking for my cats, I look first to the mats and that is usually where I can find both of them.

Does the unit have a sensor to activate only when the pet is laying on the unit, or is it always on?
