Innotek UltraSmart Contain-n-Train
from Location: Missouri,  Oct 21, 2009

Great product. It's a little pricey (hence 4 stars rather than 5 on "Value"), but then you get what you pay for. I've used a training collar before (tried it on myself first--didn't hurt, but it did snap my head over to my shoulder!), but it died. New dog, new home, no fence, old collar died. We need both containment and training, and when you add the two together, this really isn't all that bad price-wise, I guess. And this type of training aid really is quite effective. Since I only just purchased this item, and I therefore have no track record of personal use to go on, I cannot give it a 5 star rating on durability--time will tell. However, Innotek is a leadin manufacturer of this type of product, and I have no real concerns as to the durability issue. Overall, a great thing. Much cheaper than a physical fence, and unless you have a husky or some other semi-wolf or totally aggressive large dog who will charge the fence intentionally because they do not care about the consequences, this product really, really works.

Horrible In-ground Fence
 from Minnesota,  Nov 4, 2011

I would not recommend this in-ground pet fence to anyone - unless you want your dog escaping constantly! We thought this would be the route to go and save money, but it turned out to be a waste of money. Overstock has an amazing, no-questions asked return policy for the first 30 days on products that are working improperly and were very helpful in getting this returned for a full-refund. After properly installing and training our puppy on the fence it turned out there were various "areas" in the fence where there was no signal and the dog could get through without any correction tone or shock. Therefore, he learned where these areas were and would choose to "escape" through there. Why not? After talking with the manufacturer, they tried telling us that we must have metal items buried in our yard that are deflecting the signal and there was nothing they could do to assist us. That is not true and we ended up digging up the whole fence to return it. VERY UNHAPPY! DO NOT BUY!!

Contain n Train
from Santa Fe, NM,  Mar 11, 2010

This product is a very nice advance over Innotek's previous products. I had to return the remote trainer though to Innotek because of a malfunction. All in all I think it is a very good product.

The remote trainer and collar wouldn't sync. Innotek to send new collar and remote, but has taken several weeks.
