Innotek Spray Commander

I've had this product for 3 weeks now and I love it. I kept it on my dog almost 10 days before every pushing a button, loading it or putting in batteries. I have a rottweiler who didn't get along with un-neutered males who tried to dominate him. He would get rather aggressive. I could not control it by going to him b/c as soon as I got close he would get more aggressive and take a protective defense stature in front of me. It became clear that my involvement caused him to escalate rapidly. So I needed a remote way of informing him that his behavior was unacceptable. After the first week I just used the tone and now I forget the collar from time to time and he's completely controllable on voice-only commands. It was fast and completely harmless.

I have come to the conclusion that it is a Poor product for our needs. The battery drain on the Innotek spray commander is terrible even when i switch it to the OFF position after use. Many other reviews are happy with the product but not us. Maybe it was just our unit?? maybe others did not have this problem as i wrote to company and they suggested that it may have been a faulty unit who knows?? We are early in training with the dog and we need a totally reliable product (90%+) and be able to leave it on for a few hours each day without having to change batteries all the time. This product maybe workable for people who use it just for an hour a day but not for our needs where we need it around his neck for 3 or 4 hours a day without having to remember to keep switching it ON and OFF all the time. Its just a pain when we let him out the back garden for a wee wee and then he starts barking and then we realise we forgot to turn it on before sending him out) If our unit was not faulty?? then To design a product that doesn’t foresee this need is a poor design and it doesn’t really fit our needs. Also from our tests It is hit and miss whether it will work at the moment i need it. I do all my checks when leaving the house. I put it on him 15 mins before we leave, but the moment i need it in the park it has a 50% chance of working. The problem is solely down to the battery drain. So after exhaustively persevering with this product it is completely unworkable for us. Be interesting if any other user can confirm or contradict my findings

I am very happy with this product. I used to have 10-15 barking breakouts with my girl just in the hours after work and before bed, it was like I spent most of my time dealing with barking. I tried positive reinforcement, timeouts in the bedroom, plain old scolding, and the "thundershirt". With no luck, I decided to go with a bark collar and liked the idea of this better than a shock. I got this and the first few times I used the beep function, that alone was enough to distract her from barking. After that when the beep wasn't enough, I tried the spary, which totally shocked her and she ran and hid in the bedroom. Since then (I've had the item about a month) I've only had to use the spray about 5 times, now that she knows the beep is a spray warning it is enough to stop her. Her overall barking breakouts are also down from the 10-15 I mentioned earlier to only 3 or 4 a night. This is a huge improvement and I feel like my dog and I are getting along much better because of it.

Product created just what I was wanting from my dog and that was to "come" when called. After using the spray twice I only had to use the alert button. Now only hold the remote in my hand and when he sees that and I say "come" he comes immediately and this is without the collar on him. Very pleased with product.
