GoPetClub Huge Gym Cat Tree Condo

2 years ago I bought a cat tower from Overstock. At that time I only had 4 cats....over the years the cats grew to 14.....yes 14. The old tower, while still in good shape, would only hold up to 6 of them which then led to fights. My daughter put this together in an hour and it will comfortably hold all 14 (and it has several times). Ahhhh peace has been restored for the crazy cat lady. As far as the old tower....that is still being used in another room of the house.

My cats (I have 6 of them) have thoroughly enjoyed this tree. In fact, I have just ordered another one, since the last one was destroyed in a fire (no kitties or people harmed, thank goodness!). They climb the poles as if climbing trees, they lounge, they play fight, they run and jump and create havoc on it. The baskets and houses are just right for sleeping in, and sometimes playing King-of-the-Castle. The tree stands up surprisingly well to all of this commotion. A few things that should be noted: The boards used in the construction of this are sturdy, but not very thick. The 'fur' covering everything is somewhat cheap, sheds, and is very thin. It is my main complaint about this tree. The cats like to groom it. The 'houses' are actually more like tents. They have a solid top and bottom, and very strong velcro is used to attach the bottom of the tent to the piece below it. At least one of my cats was working on making a hole through the side wall of one of the houses. I don't mind, but someone else might prefer solid houses. The sisal posts are typical; sisal rope stapled and glued over thick cardboard rolls. The cats eventually loosen the rope and start tearing the cardboard. Putting it together is a chore, but it is made easier by taking the time to label all of the parts. The diagram is useful, and is pretty much all there is in way of instruction. I put some of it together wrong initially and had to take it apart and start over. It took me a couple of hours at least. The only thing I needed help with, was my husband had to put on the top pole, and secure it to the ceiling. The entire tree should also be checked and tightened up on occasion. Despite some drawbacks, the price of this giant tree is worth it. I really can't buy anything this complex for this cheap anywhere. If you have multiple cats, a tree with several levels, and some wider spaces between them is essential to create cat happiness and eliminate non-sharing behaviours. This one fits those needs and doesn't break the bank. Even though it's a little cheaply made, I don't mind, as the cats will take anything like this apart eventually anyway. I owned the previous tree for about 6 months before the fire, and it was just becoming somewhat worn. I figured it would last another year at least with my little monsters playing on it.

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. This isn't like the super sturdy (nearly 2x4 construction) cat trees you will find assembled at pet stores. However, it is sturdy enough when maintained, and for the price, WORTH it.

We received the product in 3 days. The instructions were easy to follow and the assembled product was just as it was described on the web site. The materials were right for each part's use - many soft, some with rope around them for scratching or climbing.
