I bought the large Gripper Ball for my 75 lb boxer. I needed something small enough to keep in the house yet durable enough to keep him entertained. This did the trick ! I'm impressed with the material - it does not have a rubber odor, it flexes enough for him to bite and even puncture yet he can not tear it apart or pull pieces off. It's not solid or heavy like other large dog toys so he does note get sore gums . He usually carries it by the handle so that keeps his slobber off the ball and off my floors. He stands at the top of the steps to let it bounce to the bottom then he carries it back to the top and starts all over. Great quality that stands up to daily play and safe enough to leave out when I'm not home. After months of play, it does not smell like dog breath and I've only wiped it clean with a damp towel.
My one year old lab golden retriever mix loved this toy literally to pieces in two days. I have never seen him enjoy a toy more. The handle makes it easy to throw. He puctured it with his teeth almost immediately however the toy did not deflate. I only gave the product one star for durability and safety because he chewed the handle off the first day. He is quite the chewer however and has been through just about every chew toy on the market. I highly recommend this toy if your dog is not destructive. I will probably order another one and not let my dog play with it unless I am actively involved in the play time.
I purchased (2) since my dog loved the jolly ball she played with at day care. She loves the ball but ends up chewing the handle. I let her play for a while but I have to take it away otherwise she will chew it to pieces. I purchased the blue ball which is the larger one. Great toy but needs to be tougher. I am going to try the jolly ball next. Will see how that lasts.
I had bought a doggie dooley gripper ball for my golden retriever a couple of years ago. I have a dog boarding kennel and all of the dogs loved the ball. In fact they all loved it to death. I had forgotten where I bought it. So I looked for it in all of the dog sites, not thinking of Overstock. I finally ran across it one day and was overjoyed. I bought "Hunny B" a new ball and she was so excited. She took it by the loop and ran all around the doggie yard. She won't let anyone else touch this one. The first one got separated at the handle by a visiting dog. The only thing I could suggest is to reinforce the loop with heavier rubber at the handle.
bought this for my new lab puppy who, so far, has shown no interest in it. Maybe she will play with it when she grows into it. My other dogs are far too small for it.
