Crown Pet Large Espresso Table Crate

I was really looking forward to getting this crate for my chocolate lab because I wanted something that didn't "look" like a dog crate. When it came the assembly was quick and easy and I put my dogs bed in the crate and he went right in. I left for 20 minutes to take my son to school and when I returned my dog had pushed the front rails right open and they snapped like twigs. Given the fact that this items is meant to CONTAIN a dog (whether you are training them or if you crate your dog when you are not home to keep them out of trouble). Whatever the reason, the tiny rails made of particle board on the front might hold back a terrier, but there's no way that a larger breed, even just LEANING on the rails wouldnt break them right off. Honestly, the rails are so flimsy that my Lhasa probably could have pushed through it! Considering the cost of this crate, I say save your money buy a REAL dog crate so you can feel sure when you leave your pet unattended that they can't break through the rails. A definite NO from me.

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. EXTREMELY poor quality. My dog pushed through the rails on the front door on the first day. Metal rails would have been a better idea.

I purchased the large dog crate in espresso finish. It was easy to assemble, and looks very nice in my living room. Once I placed a lamp on top and framed photographs it became almost hard to recognize as a dog crate. I am very happy that o.co had this in stock and at a much better price than I've seen elsewhere. Just had a Christmas party and all were impressed that it was a dog crate and not some sort of over large mission style end table. Now I have to convince my Weimaraner that she will "love" this crate as much as her big ugly plastic one and hope that she does not fritter away the hours frantically chewing the "bars." I'm a little concerned about the latching system. I'm not that convinced that it will be strong enough to contain her and her wily ways.
