Crate is a quite an upgrade from the plastic Vari-Kennel we were using. It was very easy to assemble, however due to its large size would have been extremely difficult for one person. It arrived with a piece damaged and we had to epoxy it overnight before continuing assembly. It it very roomy and our standard poodle looks very elegant inside.
This is the best quality crate we have ever owned!! It shipped faster than expected and was so easy to put together!! It is absolutely massive and comfortably fits dog pillows, blankets, and our three little pups while we are away from home! The double doors are an absolutely amazing feature too! Allows us to push the kennel up to the doggy door so the pups have the option of going outside too! Then when we get home we open the side door and they all come out without even moving the kennel! Such a great deal!! We LOVE it!!!
I loved the pet crate. I would highly recommend this for a pet that is already kennel trained. I got this for my parents and their brand new Boston Terrier we rescued from a puppy mill. He did great for a week, but once he started coming into his own personality, he scratched & chewed the inside up pretty bad. Like I said, if your dog is already kennel trained, this piece looks GREAT and is super efficient as both a kennel and a nightstand/end table. Having said that, I will say that it took forever to come in. I contacted Overstock and they got back to me saying they couldn't find the shipment so they refunded me. After that, it came in! Being the honest person I am, I contacted Overstock to let them know and I let them know that I would pay for it. They took about $10 off the price for my troubles, which I guess is better than nothing. Awesome kennel. I loved it.
This works perfect for my two small dogs to share, they're about 15lbs each and love to lay on top of each other so it works great. It looks really nice sitting out as opposed to an ugly metal crate. It's probably not sturdy enough to hold up against a hyper puppy or a dog who does not like to be kenneled. But my dogs are very lazy and don't mind just laying in there at all. Overall love it, great purchase.
We wanted something for our 70lb german shorthair to sleep in our bedroom. She didn't like being locked in her kennel downstairs by herself. I had seen some reviews that it wasn't sturdy, etc... If anyone is familiar with German Shorthair Pointers, they have tons of energy. This crate is very sturdy and she loves it! We are two weeks in and now she just goes in by herself when she is ready. It was easy to assemble and it looks beautiful in our room. YAY!!!
I bought this crate for my pit bull who will be one on October 11th. He has been using his smaller kennel (which is about half the size of this one) since he was a baby (we fostered him and his seven siblings! So cute!). His old kennel was getting a bit small for him, and I wasn't sure what size I should get so I chose this one so he wouldn't outgrow it. This kennel is great, and it is big enough for him to stand up without coming close to bumping his head. He loves it, too. When I was bringing it inside, he was so happy and tried opening the box himself. I love that it is collapsable, but it doesn't feel like it will collapse with him in it. All in all, it is a nice, large crate big enough for my pit bull to stretch out and relax while I'm gone!
This kennel gives my Chinese Crested extra room that her hard-sided crate does not and she likes that. It has extra height which makes it feel larger than it is. Collapses flat and easily carried. Very glad I purchased it.
We are dog breeders and are remodeling our home. We have many dogs and they all live in the house with us. While not terribly fancy we did make our living room somewhat formal. We have a row of these crates underneath a large wall display unit. The dogs are comfortable and we don't have a lot of messy kennels in the room. The crates have 2 drawbacks: the doors fit so tightly that they cannot be closed if you have a pet bed or cushion of any sort in them. The bars on the door are advertised to be stainless steel, but they are hollow. When one of our females was in breedable season, one of our males smashed the bars of his kennel with his teeth and got out and smashed the bars of the female's kennel, letting her out. Fortunately we found them before they could breed, but we had had faith in the kennels keeping them separated and almost had a disaster. Our dogs are soft-mouthed birddogs and still were able to bend the steel. I certainly can't recommend the kennels for any dog with forceful jaws..
The crates were everything promised...sturdy, well made, easy to put together. I have my elegant family room back instead of having a kennel where I watch TV. I purchased the medium crates and have 15 pound dogs --- perfect fit.
