Carlson Convertible Pet Yard

The box it is shipped in its original box which is very thin and not appropriate for shipping; hence, the product was damaged in shipping. The plastic hinges were broken on two of the rails. It is very cheap compared to a similar gate I purchased in the past from a different supplier. I would not waste your money. It is not a good product. I am returning the item. Plus, it looks cheap.

This is a great product for odd shaped areas to limit pets. I have an open house with wide doorways that other gates do not fit well. This is adjustable to zigzag across the room. I was disappointed that it could not attach to the previous one I bought at a local pet store (even though it is the same brand and product number.) I suppose the product has changed slightly in two years. I have only used it inside to limit my dog's access to carpeting.

The Pet yard used cheap and inferior plastic corner mounts that shoul have been made of metal or at least nylon, I have 2 small dogs one is 7 lbs. and the other is avout 11 lbs. and they have broken 2 of the top hinges in a week. I have had to wire it together.

The metal rods broke away from the frame in two places already and I have only had the gate for about two weeks. The place where it breaks is right at the tightening knobs on the top of the frame. I learned the hard way that the knobs need to be loosened before attempting to move the gate even the slightest or bumping into it. Probably is a good idea to just leave them a little loose. I now have zip-ties and black electrical tape holding the frame in place. It works well for keeping the dogs out of the living room but isn't as flexible or sturdy as I was hoping it would be.
