I've read that dogs can build up a tolerance to the sound, and I think my MinPin did. In the beginning you could see that it worked as he would look around as if "where's that sound coming from." I had my dropcam video camera set to alert me to sounds, and I would notice that he would stop after a few barks and look around. But as the weeks progressed, it didn't have an effect on him - I guess it made his ears tougher. :-(

    First I want to say that your service is fabulous. I've never had a problem and do recommend Overstock .Com to many friends and family. The Bark Pro Series Pet Trainer does not work. On day one it was fine, it surprised our puppies but after two days they just learned to move back from the sound. It doesn't work. I purchased one for me and then two for my daughter but am returning all three.

    I have two small, yappy dogs. I live in an apartment and no amount of positive reinforcement training, kongs filled with peanut butter or cookies, would keep these two from barking to excess when I leave for work or the grocery store. My vet recommended this product so, I purchased it and immediately plugged it in. (The cord is extremely long making it easy to move from room to room.) Before I left them alone, I tested it by setting the tone for audible and pushing the test button. It sounded like short high pitched tone. My Maltese immediately lowered his ears, quit barking and sat down! The Chihuahua scurried under her blanket. Amazing!. After one week, I turned it off and left the house. Wonder of wonder. No barking. I highly recommend this product for training...I still keep it on the counter but rarely have to use it.
