Very stable workmanship and the cloth material covering the steps is fine, no rips or tears for a couple of months now. Looks very nice in black too, a plus. Function AND fashion! If only Connie would use it. I bought these stairs because my Chihuahua has slipped several times when trying to jump onto the bed. I am afraid she will get hurt. The product itself is great for what I (and Connie) need but it going to take awhile to get her used to using them. These stairs aren't high quality furniture so if you want them in the living room you might slap some varnish on them. The wood is painted brown and the stairs have a thin grey felt cover. So far Connie won't use them, she just gives them the evil eye when she walks past it.

School workshop quality The stairs are matte black, plywood, very cheap quality. Mine arrived with unsanded edges, huge splinters of wood sticking out from the edges of the shabbily glued felt covered steps and the back to one of the steps completely missing. I would expect this type of quality from my kids in 9th grade wood shop. Very disappointing.

Buy only if you have a 10lb or under dog Bought this for my 19 lb shih-tzu and while it states it will hold up to 60 lbs, it's not true. It's unstable and if your dog has a long body, the steps will be too narrow for your dog. I think it's best for agile cats or very small dogs (toy poodle, yorkie, etc.). For the price, the quality's not terrible but the first one I received had a tear in the material that covers the first step. By the way, the material on the steps are super thin (cheap) so would be better to reinforce it with stronger fabric (i.e. carpet) when you buy it.

Pet Ladder So sorry I bought this and unfortunately it is not returnable so I guess they got me! And I NEVER return things. The product is a tad rickety and the steps are very steep. I finally have gotten my 20-lb Shiba Inu to go up the steps but he is too scared to go down steps this steep so he just jumps off the couch instead- which is exactly what I want to protect his hips from. I scoured reviews of pet stairs for days. I really thought this one would be big enough, and there were no reviews about a chemical-smell or how the wood is super-fake so I thought it would be great. It also isn't an ugly color or anything like that so aesthetically it is fine. It is really not the merchants problem my dog is too scared to use this but it really makes me wonder if they tested it on animals first. My dog isn't a big dog. My biggest gripe is that this isn't returnable which I didn't notice when I purchased it.

great dog stairs good height. This was a great find. We have 2 small Yorkies and even though we had a bench at the end of the bed, we felt it was still a little high to jump or fall. It took them a couple days to get the hang of it. They are sturdy, Our dogs weigh 10 lbs and 8 lbs.

smaller than the picture looks I did a lot of comparison shopping online for these steps for my dog. I was a bit disappointed when they arrived. The steps are nice looking, but are too narrow for my dog to comfortably walk down. She is a 35lb dog. These would be fine for a toy breed, but I wish I had gone with another brand with wider steps.
