We've "collected" stray cats, till we now have 6 indoor/outdoor cats (from 6 lbs all the way to 16 lbs). After our old cat tree finally lost the last of its sisal, we decided to buy one from Overstock. I chose this one because it has enough hammocks, levels, houses and sisal scratching posts for all my cats. I received it 5 days after I ordered it - Overstock's usual great delivery service - and opened the box the next day to start putting it together. There are no written instructions for assembly - just pictures, so after studying the parts list and the assembly pictures for about 15 minutes, it took me only about 45 minutes to put the cat tree together. The only reason it took me that long is because I had 4 cats jumping around on it as I was trying to screw the pieces together! (Start assembly from the TOP of the cat tree -- very important!) It's very sturdy, very aesthetically pleasing and my cats love it! And because they love it, I love it. I highly recommend this cat tree to anyone with cats - especially if you have a Siamese...they go crazy with the hanging toy.
I gave it 4 stars only because when I got to the part where I needed to attach the legs to the base of the tree (the piece that holds the whole thing up), the screw holes were not aligned properly. So I only got two of the legs screwed to the base piece. Before letting all my cats play on it, we had them test it for stability and sturdiness. It works fine, but we're going to fix the situation by drilling new holes in the base (yeah, right...that's on the to-do list right after blowing the snow off our sidewalk in South Texas! In other words, it's never gonna happen.)
