I have the desk set up in my business office and it looks great and has provided me an inexpensive but professional looking desk. It provides a bit desk top and is made to work with computers.....I have gotten several compliments and one of my peers wants the same desk.

The picture and price make the item appear to be of higher quality than it is. A disappointment to pay so much for not real/solid wood.

Lookwise it is great. All of my guests asked me whats the brand and model number of the Desk. Pros - Ample Storage space, Locked Drawer space. U shaped desk. Perfect for home office. Best in its class. Cons - Needs atleast 4 hours professional assembly. Comes in 3 Boxes which weighs more than 400 lbs. So its little tricky to move unless u open each box and move parts separately.

Overall this is a good desk. Easy to put togethet, but definitely takes 2 people. Great work space with plenty of room to spread your work out. Plenty of extra screws and bits.

Beautiful desk & cabinetry. It is also very sturdy. Needed 2 people to put together and took several hours, but once finished, it was worth it.

Order in advance, as the lead time was a while. Came to us by freight carrier with out warning. Luckily I was close, and available to run right over. If your a little scared of putting things together this may be a bit challenging. Not for the faint of heart. I got two so I had to put them together myself. Overwhelming at time even with an engineering mindset. Do yourself a favor and map out which side you want the bridge to go on beforehand and paper clip closed the directions to the exact pages needed. I did this on second go around it was much smoother that way. But, it's not rocket science either. Overall, if you need a good desk for the cash. It's a good one.

The table tops are nice. Wasn't too hard to assemble. The finish on the rest of pieces is not very good even by MDF standards. The paper has rough edges around corners that you would expect from a $20 bookshelf from Walmart but not at this price. The package did arrive with a dented corner that has damaged the corner of one of the pieces.

I would not recommend this unit to anyone. If the chocolate colored area had been the quality of the blond area, it would have been quite a unit. The instructions for building this unit are horrible. The unit needs more drawers, and the drawers you get are deceiving. They look like their big, and will hold a lot of storage, but their tiny inside. File drawer is ok. My biggest complaint is the quality of the pieces that are chocolate colored. Chips all over the place. Just really poor quality. Will never buy a put together unit ever again

This desk appears for be made from metal and heavy duty laminate. It is not. It is made from pressed wood (mdx) and cardboard. I was shocked that the floor pieces that hide the screws are actually cardboard bent to make them look good in the picture. I would not have paid this price for a pressed wood product. Putting this together is no picnic and the locking cams that are included are flimsy. I have purchased additional L plates to make the corners sturdy and am trying to figure out how to make the sides that touch the floor water proof, since I have to mop the floor and they will get wet and deteriorate(which is why pressed wood is so cheap, it's just pieces of wood glued together and once wet, it is ruined and falls apart).. I bought this because I wanted a really nice desk, finally. This is not it and I would like to return it but don't feel I should pay for shipping for a misrepresented product. I quit assembling halfway through and can't get motivated to finish since it is such poor quality. I should never have bought something like this online and won't again. Also, beware that the color pictured here is totally off. It is very dark, a cherry color.

Be sure that you follow the instructions exactly. I is a great clean look and feel, and exactly what I hoped!

Calling this desk huge is an understatement, just like calling the universe huge, which it is. However the very word "huge" does not convey the enormity of this desk. It came in three large heavy boxes, and took about 8 hours to assemble. While the finished product looks nice there were several issues I ran into during assembly process. The first thing I noted, is the parts needed are spread throughout the three boxes, requiring one to open all three, and spread the parts around. This creates an unnecessary step that took time. The drawer assembly was far more complicated than it should be, and one drawer face was not correctly manufactured. I was also missing the right size fasteners in the kit, and found myself at the local big box hardware store getting the right ones. While Bestar did replace the defective price and missing hardware it took the better part of a week. This was unacceptable considering the price I paid. The doors to the hutch did not fit, and I had to spend an inordinate amount of time adjusting the hinges. They are not perfect, but they are close. I would have liked one long drawer under the hutch portion of the desk. All in all it is a good product, but not outstanding. If you don't mind the time consuming and laborious assembly, lack of quality control and slow customer response, perhaps this is the desk for you.

My first delivery included major damage (from factory, not shipping) to the laminate surface. I wish I had returned the whole set then. Waited another month for overstock to get replacements sent to me. They were not in perfect condition, but I was in desperate need of desk by then. I will be making do with this for the time being. Pros: desk set is very large and very sturdy two file cabinets included have three drawers each so you get very good storage while it took a long time to put together, the instructions were good and thorough .Cons: the quality of the laminate finish is poor, lots of sloppy corners, glue residue, rough edges The laminate is easity "etched" and scratched. If you slide a magazine across surface and it has even a tiny piece of grit on it, you will get marks in the surface. Pretty much everything, including items with felt protectors will leave a mark the return that connects the desk and credenza is very narrow, barely room to move back and forth (although I guess it could be a pro for some people as you can sit in your chair, spin in a circle and reach everything the keyboard drawer attached within a couple of inches of the return so you have to sit with your chair flush up against the return to type on your keyboard...miserable for your back. BAD design

I work from home and really needed something bigger. I've seen similar set-ups at furniture stores before, but could only dream of something like this as it was not affordable. When I saw this, I could not believe it! The quality is excellent. Drawers line up for me (saw someone else post that the drawers did not line up - I had no problems). Putting it together was pretty easy. I started by myself, but at some point 2 people are necessary. There were several pieces (Part #: TI-552), that were plastic and needed to be forced into holes with a hammer. They are slanted on top where the hammer hits, so it isn't easy to get them in and on one the top broke off while the bottom part was already almost all the way stuck in the wood. We couldn't get the broken piece out of the wood, but we were able to work around it, but I wish they would use metal for those. So be careful with those. That is the only complaint. Otherwise it is so awesome. I have so much room now. There is plenty of room in the center for a large computer chair to turn all the way around. And I love the lock on the drawers. I don't need it, but I still think its cool. I simply love my desk and can recommend it to anyone that needs something with a lot of space! My dogs love it too!!! Plenty of room for them to sleep by my feet without me stepping on them! lol.

If you love a challenge and have all day to put a 3D jigsaw puzzle together, this is the desk for you! It arrived in three enormous boxes with over 80 pieces, not including drawer guides, handles and hardware, all which had to be assembled. Two people who are both handy and have put many pieces of furniture together worked for an entire day to get this desk put together. Had the quality been better or the price much lower, it would be justified. The completed desk looks nice, but only has three drawers, one of them a filing drawer, and shelves in cabinets are not adjustable, so it is not the most functional either.

I found this desk on Overstock and I knew that's the one I wanted to go with at the office. It has the same wood coloring as the doors and the framework and I sized it up so that it would fit within the dimentions of the office + a bit of movement space. Making the purchase was easy peasy. Shipment said it was going to take a max of 6 weeks, but it came in 2 weeks or so which was fast. Was in 3 long HEAVY packages. Some damage to the undersides of the desk during shipping; the plywood had a BIG chunk taken out, but nobody's going to see the underside. I think they could have improved a bit on the packaging material since it was plastic wrapped, with some cardboard blocks to keep things from shifing and then the cardboard outside. Only thing is, with improved packaging is increased pricing. Understandable. Building and installing the desk, I took the challenge (which I don't recommend) of building it halfway by myself which took me a good 1.11 days or so to get half way. All the pieces where there though the labeling of some of the pieces were cut off. For example I was looking for C45F, and when I finally found the piece, it's label was cut off to read 45F. Otherwise, it was easy to install. Looks great in my office, and I get many good comments about how much my desk looks awesome.

GREAT DESK, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE. TOOK SEVERAL HOURS TO BUILD BUT WELL WORTH IT. PLENTY OF ROOM AND STORAGE SPACE.

I began looking for desks as we were redoing our home office. We have a dedicated office, double door entrance, and it is nearly 10x10. Not a huge room, but because it is a designated office and not sharing space for anything else, I wanted to put a large desk in there. I always go to Costco.com first...and I used to say, "if you can buy it at Costco, you can't get it anywhere else for less." I was wrong. I really loved the two tone color of this desk. Because I have a tray ceiling with ceiling fan that is made out of honey oak, in addition to honey oak floors, the light colored surface on this desk was just what I wanted. I first saw this on Costco's website, but it was called "Merrick." I found that odd because when I started searching online, I kept on seeing "Manhattan" as the name of this model. I called the manufacturer and was very pleased with her knowledge. She confirmed that Costco was selling the "Manhattan" and that they often buy lots of items and rename them, which they did in this case. Okay, so I knew that it was the same--now I just had to start doing some price comparison. Costco sold the desk for $***. Even though it was free shipping, there was tax. Bottom line, I got the same desk from Overstock for over $*** less than if I had purchased it at Costco. It arrived about 7-10 days from the day I ordered it. They called our house and set up a time/date that my husband would be home for the shipment. I already knew it was over 400 pounds and that it would be in the garage and I would probably build it slowly...piece by piece. Well, it was built in about a day and a half. I enjoyed putting it together, although my kitty-cat kept on trying to sneak pieces out of the room! Sneaky girl. Anyway, every time the instruction indicated two people, I would call my husband up and he would help me do whatever step I was on...and if it shows two people--trust me, YOU NEED two people, I don't care how strong and/or coordinated you may think you are....that's not relevant. There was a small hiccup near the end. Because there are a few options for the "bridge," there were no holes drilled for the support beam that connects to either side of the desk. So other than husband having to drill a few holes on either side for that, it was super easy to assembly. I did buy the pencil drawer that goes under the desk. I'm so glad I did....I ended up finding it on Office Depot for half the cost on Bestar's website. I found a lot of drawers that would fit that were 1" deep--but I really wanted the 2" deep drawer and it is perfect. There was a slight defect in one of the doors (#61)...almost as if water had gotten to it awhile back and the compressed wood was starting to separate. After I was finished, I contacted Bestar and they shipped out one immediately for no cost. Also, the area underneath the desk is HUGE. I have a little stand that I used to have my printer on under there. It fits PERFECT in the corner and you can't even see it and it is so far away from your legs you never bump into it (big area under there!). I have one of those metal in baskets that have about six slots and I have my extra ink cartridges, envelopes, a few cords for various devices. One thing to mention while you are building your desk. BE CAREFUL with the pieces. I don't know exactly what this is made out of but it does scratch. You have to be mindful of this and only set it down on blankets and such, but it will scratch. Why the company doesn't send a crayon stick with the desk is beyond me, but I asked for one when I requested the replacement door. Oddly enough, there must be a shortage because I got a crayon about the size of 1/6 of a regular sized crayon! But it was all I needed so I guess they know what they are doing. I am so glad I took a chance and ordered this desk....I absolutely love it and I couldn't imagine anything else in my office. Dawn

The desk was large enough for the space we had in mind. It is of good quality for the money, the chairs that we ordered with it were outstanding in quality and color. Matched perfectly.

I bought this desk one year ago and have used it nearly every day since then. It is a fabulous desk. The colors are exactly as shown in the picture. It is sturdy and solid. Although it is primarily my office desk, every member of my family uses this desk at one time or another, and it has held up amazingly well! I plan to use it for years to come.
