This Safco 5-shelf bookcase has a simple, clean design. It features a steel exterior and shelf construction with a powder-coated finish. It comes with spacious open shelves to hold your books. You can adjust the shelf an inch up or down when a bulky encyclopedia or a large dictionary doesn't fit. This bookcase allows for easy assembly.

Difficult to Assemble shelves
The product was very difficult to assemble and the screw holes didn't line up properly on many of the shelves. Some of the screws require you to screw them in from an upside down and backwards position (that I think would be easier to do if I were double jointed). Once the drama of getting the 4 of them put together was over, I was happy enough with them (or maybe it was the rush of relief of finally finishing putting them together!).

- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? The screw holes didn't line up properly on many of the shelves; some of the flanges were bent.

Bookcases are of very poor quality
The bookcases are flimsy; metal sides and cardboard back. The shelves are not supported by the cardboard back and the screw holes do not align. The directions are poor. After 5 hours trying to get one bookcase together, I will return all 12! I do not believe these bookcases will hold anything heavier than a comic book. I have serious concerns about the safety of this product.
