Very sturdy construction and good heft. I dropped it onto a concrete sidewalk from about 4 feet and there wasn't a mark on it!
I am glad to have found this pen at Overstock. I've been using one for the past seven years and wanted to have a replacement for when the original finally gives out (no sign of that, yet). The price is great and Overstock's service was excellent.
A good pen at a great price. Writes well and fits the hand just right for use all day.
I was looking for a hefty ballpoint that was very sturdy. I had bought a Rotring Freeway ballpoint many years ago and liked the design. However, after about a month of use the point would not come out all of the way. I thought I would give it another try (maybe they fixed the flaw) but this pen did the same thing after about two months of very minor use. Unfortunately, Overstock tells me there is no warranty and no return. Good thing it was less than than $10. Save your money.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. nice weight and finish
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? ball point does not fully deploy
The ink cartridge is too short for the pen. The nib of the cartridge barely sticks out from the pen and makes it impossible to write with. Needless to say its going back!
- How accurate was the sizing? Inaccurate
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Lack of quality
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? No
I am on my second pen and will need another replacement soon. The first problem popped up soon after I received the pen, within days actually. The pen tip wouldn't stick out far enough to write and the click mechanism failed miserably. I contacted Overstock's customer service, and within minutes another pen was on the way. Great, great service. But now, just a couple months later, the same problem is popping up (or not popping out, as the case is here). It's a bummer. I really love the look and feel of this pen, and it's not like I am redrafting War and Peace by hand; the pen just doesn't seem to last. And, no, I'm not an overzealous clicker, either.
I have not written with this pen, but Rotring has a stellar reputation among architects, artists etc., hence the 3 stars. I actually have not even held this pen in my hand. I am looking for a **shiny** push-button black pen that reminded me of the classic pens you could purchase, once-upon-a-time, at the library, from a little vending machine. This pen is completely MATTE. The black, the silver, it is all MATTE. Photos should show this and/or description should specify. It seems like a great price for Rotring, though. Just not for me.
