A silver Parker mechanical pencil is a perfect accoutrement for a posh and sophisticated writer. This pencil takes 0.5 millimeter lead and is refillable for constant use. It measures five-and-a-half inches in length and has a cool brushed metal grip....more
I am a pen and pencil connesieur (that's admirer and collector for those in Rio-Linda). Parker has been one of my favorites for years. Their quality has not fallen down from its original peak in my opinion. Their writing instruments are tough, beautiful, and reliable. You can't ask for more than that. For this style, the only improvement I would consider would be a lower barrel that is less slippery.
How accurate was the sizing? very accurate
Please tell us about the quality of the product. This pencil uses Parker's twist-to-advance lead system, which, if you're used to the push button at the top of the pencil, takes some getting used to, but I had no trouble. The amount of lead that is advanced is appropriate with each twist of the barrel. The pencil weighs more than most, which I think is good. There's lots of metal which adds value and durability as well as beauty.
Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? yes
I purchased this pencil because I really liked what it looked, besides it's from Parker. The quality of the material is very good but it is very slippery to hold due to the shiny stainless steel part. It is also very big, uncomfortable to write. You have to twist with both hands to get the led out, it is inefficient. If you just want to keep this as your collection, it is a very nice and good quality made. But if you want to use this pencil daily, I would recommend Bic pencil is even more comfortable to write.
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very Nice but Uncomfortable to Write
Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? No. It has scratch.
The Parker urban pencil is a quality writing implement. It is on the heavy side and can feel akward if you set it down and pick up several times between uses. I think the quality is on par with my Cross pencil with the exception of the eraser. The first use of the eraser broke it off at the metal holder and made it difficult to remove the remaining portion of the eraser. I replaced with the pentel grey erasers and it has been fine since.
Did the product fit true to size? Yes
How is the quality of the product? The overall quality is good that being said the eraser is cheap and broke off the first time I used it.
