i am very satisfied with this pen set. it is part of a gift i bought for my granddaughter. she uses it in her profession and enjoys the way it writes and receives complments on the way it writes. everyone wants to keep it. it's hard to find a good pen you can rely on and even harder to keep it.

I purchased this set as a graduation gift. My quick trial of the pen proved it was a satisfactory mechanism with above average ballpoint ink flow. I do not think it writes as nice as the $20 Cross pen that I use everyday at work, however I think the quality is acceptable for the price. While I would purchase this item again, I would hesitate to order it as a gift from Overstock because of the condition of the packaging. The set was shipped in a padded mailer that caused it to arrive looking like old, beat-up stock.. I had to remove the set from its outer most packaging to make it presentable for gift giving. I don't know if it had been shipped in a box if that fate would have been avoided. Again, perhaps this is the trade-off one makes when the price for shipping is right.

this parker pen and mechanical pencil set are a step above everyday writing instruments--the pen is smooth, easy to grasp and writes well--the pencil is also smooth and the lead is just the right length for detail and notes--a nice set
