We bought these pens for our kennel club to give as thank you gifts to judges. I was a little reluctant because of the earlier negative reviews. I have to say, I don't know what pen THOSE folks got, because all of these were wonderful. Great weight in the hand, beautiful writing instrument, total Parker first class quality all the way. (And purple is one of our club colors, so that was an extra bonuses.) Judges were pleased with their gift and I think a bit surprised to get something so nice. So happy we didn't listen to the naysayers on this one-- I would buy this pen with confidence again.
i love the weight, much better than a throw away, if you want a light pen, you go for plastic. I like a pen with staying power, refills are a personal choice and a parker style refill means you have loads to choose from. When a pen sits idle you expect the ink to lose viscosity, such a simple fix.
This is a fine pen--at this price--if you want a ball point or gel pen. Parker cartridges are varied & reliable. the pen will give good service for decades. it is not handsome & it is not suitable for anyone with a large hand. Very good for the money. Reliable.
The box it arrived in looked professional and expensive. The pen itself is a heavy instrument - and felt pretty good in the hand. The colors - just did not jive = and the thing is actually ugly. - and the ink - must be old or something - One has to apply heavy pressure or you don't get a smooth line when writing. They two pens I purchased stay in a drawer - while I continue to use the plastic ball point, I took from the bank when making a deposit - It works better than this pen - and cost me nothing. No - not good.
Have always been happy with Parker pens, so I bought this one despite questionable reviews. I don't like rollerballs. I prefer a little resistance that a ballpoint gives. This drags too much and the line is light. Parker is trying to be ergonomic with this, but they still don't quite get ergonomics. They need to provide a high friction flared grip, not the slippery plastic tapered one. It is solid, but the ends are still plastic. The refills are very overpriced it seems. I will give the two I bought away as gifts to people I don't like that much, as they do come in an impressive box.
Purchased this pen for a token gift, but will not give it as it writes poorly, uneven ink, heavy in hand, extremely disappointed that it almost costs as much to return, so I'm stuck with a lousy pen. Overstock should just tell folks to keep the pen and try to purchase a refill for it that might work alot better than the one it comes with.
This pen is heavy to write with. Also, I didn't like the way it wrote on the page. Perhaps gel refills have spoiled me? I am used to ink that flows across the page without scratching. However, given the money I spent, I am not giving up on it. I will try to find some tolerable refills and will teach my hand to get accustomed to the weight. I would have returned it, but the shipping charges cost too much.
